  1. Welcome back to a fantastic hobby, i'm sure there are plenty of birdkeepers up there in the northwest who will be able to help you out, unfortunately i'm the other end of the country on the Isle of Wight otherwise i could put some your way. Wayne
  2. Thanks Gary, i'll try pairing this hen to a grey cock to see what they produce. Wayne
  3. Thanks, The bird in question is almost identical to the sketch only with light brown cheeks so i assume from what you say it's a fawn cheeked hen, hence the eggs. I'll pair her up this season ( as she's a nice size ) with one of my grey cocks and see what happens. What is a fawn cheeked cock like ??? i'm assuming very similar to a cfw. Thanks again.
  4. Thanks Emmy, If you go to the home page, zebraman.co.uk there is a coloured sketch taking up most of the page, this is the bird in question. thanks Wayne
  5. Hi, I have breed this season what i thought to be a cockbird but this morning on cleaning the cages i've found two egggs, all the other birds are defo cocks. The bird in question is almost identical to the one on the forums home page apart from the cheek patches are more fawn than grey, because of the cheek patches i assumed it was a cockbird. Can you please help me identify this bird. I have now moved it in with the hens. Cheers Wayne
  6. Hi,i joined the forum first and then the ZFS, just happened that way as i did know the ZFS existed.Wayne
  7. What pairing did you use to get that, i'll give it a go next season. Wayne
  8. Cheers Scott,There's obviously more to breeding these little critters than i thought, think i need to take one step at a time and not run before i can walk. Thanks againWayne
  9. What is the best way to get some strong colour back into CFW's, I've seen pictures from European fanciers and there colours are nearly as strong as normals, the only ones i've seen lately have been very washed out. Is it possible to get the colour back ? or is it a long drawn out process which will take many seasons.Wayne
  10. Thanks Trevor,Things never used to be this complicated 30 years ago when i first had zebra's, i think the newest variety then was CFW's, i'm sure i'll get there eventually, cheers again.Wayne
  11. Hi all,my first pair of zebs that i've aquired are Black-cheeked but i'm unsure if the hen is black-cheeked or a normal, she looks to me like a normal henas there are no cheek patches ? do hens have these ? perhaps someone could download a picture i could compare.Wayne

    Penguin Zebs

I'm just starting to breed zebs again after many years without birds due to children being a priority, i would like to breed and show zebs specializing in penguins if possible.Does anybody know of anyone in the south of england preferably near the isle of wight where i can purchase some exhibition quality penguins to start me off.
