Andyn 534 Report post Posted May 6, 2013 Dan, If you pair split BCs you have a chance of breeding some visual BCs. (I tried this with a visual x split but did not breed one visual BC out of 5 chicks) But once you have visuals pair them and you will get 100% BCs Andy
dannyboy2012 63 Report post Posted May 7, 2013 I've only got 3 visual black cheeks and they are just normals, im trying to produce splits too cfw so I can produce some black cheek cfws, is there any way off knowing if they are split or will all be split. Andyn 534 Report post Posted May 7, 2013 Dan, If you had visual BC cock and paired it to a CFW hen you might get Cock normals carrying BC and split for CFW if you then paired that to a CFW hen who was carrying the BC then you might get CFW cock with visual BC then pair that to visual BC CFW hen and you are away. Think it would take three years to establish the line and with two original pairs. But like I said earlier in the topic I bred visual BC normal cock to a BC carrying hen and didn't get one visual BC chick. (it's only if the BC gene from both birds come together) Sex linkage is so much easier to understand than this recesive one. Hope that helps. Andy
