  1. Welcome to the forum Paul.

Pied and pied white are not as common as they were in previous years, but there are a few breeders who specialise in this type. I have a few birds with a pied blood line in them as I used to keep them some years ago.

We have a few members on here so I would place an advert in the wanted section.

Good luck with your search and nice to see another breeder returning to the hobby.

    Gary.

One thing I have noticed about them though is they definitely don't sound the same when they are chirping.

It still amazes me how young birds pick up so much information from their elders.

  3. That's really interesting about the little pad you made up to make them think that it's the parent bird brooding them.

I used to keep some bengalese for fostering purposes and they did the job every time, the only thing I notice was the zebs raised by the bengies tried to sound like them, it's a very strange noise when you hear a zeb trying to be a bengalese. This also affected them when they were trying to attract a female, hence the reason why they weren't very good breeders.

Keep us posted on their progress.

  4. Hi Emmy,

They look really health now that you've given them a good feed. Is that one of those hot water bottles you place in the microwave keeping the warm?

  5. Hi Lee,

The LED lights and power supply came from Ikea as a kit and the controller was from eBay.

The other one's are off cuts from our vehicle workshop, but you can also get the same types on eBay.

    Hope this helps.
