Hi Lee,
There's no video only a photo.

Hi Trevor,
Many thanks for the update, the time that breeders like you put into your birds to produce the mutations that you do is amazing.
I only keep a small number of combinations, but yours must be endless.
Without people like you we wouldn't have the varieties and types we have today.
Keep up the good work Trevor and please keep us updated with your plans for the future and how everything is progressing.

Hi Trevor,
Thanks for sharing, what's the genetic history of the young bird in the photo.
It looks like it was a long road to get to this point.

Me and the misses parked on our local Morrisons this morning and as we were walking towards the shop we happened to stumble on a flock of Starlings enjoying a bath in a puddle.
Out came the phone and I took a short video.
Here it is

Hi Penny,
A couple of other things to look for would be that the parents are sitting to tight on the chicks and suffocating them, if this is the case they will remove them from the nest if they are dead. to combat this place a false egg inn the nest and this will stop the parents pushing down to hard on the chicks.
Another reason could be that the nest is to shallow and the parents are flicking them out when they are leaving the nest. To combat this remove the nest and chicks and push down on the middle of the nest material to make the centre deeper, reducing the risk of the chicks being flicked out when the parents leave the nest.
Just a few of my experiences.
Gary.

Hi Emmy,
What make/type is yours and where did you get it from and does it turn the eggs?

Hi Emmy,
I will be following the results of pip and squeek with interest. I think I need to get myself a incubator as I have only managed to breed one bird this year and it's still in the nest box.
Not sure if it will reach the sticks as it's being reared by two hens,,,,,

Thanks for posting Emmy.
I have always used thin strips of plaster on splayed legs and slip claw.
I must admit that I have never heard about vetwarp before and I will be looking for a stockiest as soon as I have finished this post.
You learn something every day on the forum.

Welcome to the forum Kaddy.
Just to answer your question.
On 22/09/2016 at 22:03, kaddy said:Aside from the birdy stuff, one thing i don't understand is the admin approval thing. Why would you (assuming you are a moderator) require for posts, to be approved by moderator (i actually see no point of that. i mean seriously, who in the world would register and post spammy content in a zebra finch forum? did that ever happen before? I think not).
Yes this has happened before and that is the reason amongst others for the approval process. We also have a number of young members on the forum and the approval process protects them from viewing any content that maybe considered unfit or not to be viewed by a juvenilia.
When you joined you changed your email address and as your IP address indicates that you are outside the UK, I placed you on admin approval as a precaution.
Admin approval is usually removed once new members have made their first post and are considered not to be posting content that does not contravene the rules of the forum.
