  1. Hi Nick, great looking cages. May I ask where you bought them and the cost. You can private message me if you don't want to post here. Thanks
  2. a training cage is the same as the show cage, some people use their older show cages to train their birds in so not to dirty and use the "BEST" show cages. All your using the cage for is to get the birds used to sitting on the perch, so that on show day the judges can see them. Normally when you put a bird in the cage they just sit on the floor, so putting them in show/training cage (10 to 15 minutes a day leading upto an event) starts getting them to sit on the perch and basically pose

  9. how very odd? had the parents stopped feeding it? when mine make the jump, i sprinkle some egg food on the food of the breeding cage and put a spray millett in. If just incase the parents stop feeding them they can nbible on soft food. I put a bath in so they have access to water, hopefully in doing that i cover all the bases! If they have died and the parents have still been feeding them, then i'm stumped fella.
  10. sorry to hear this, sadly part and parcel of bird keeping but still not nice. Concentrate on your other birds, they'll ease the pain, they need you.
  11. Happy birthday fella have a great day
  12. So this great plan of mine, turns out not so great! Brought 2 pairs inside and put into two breeding cages! all birds split for BC. In the outside aviary, I put some nest boxes in for them with the idea of replacing any eggs they lay with eggs from my split for BC pairs. Hopefully increasing the number of raised split for BC chicks. Great idea i thought, the birds in the aviary all start nesting etc, then the eggs started to appear. Very annoyingly my two pair of split for BC birds laid how many eggs? wanna guess? NONE! NOWT! ****** all! Not even one! The birds outside in the cold aviary have laid approx 40 plus eggs 13 have hatched so far, 11 survived, just rung 3 today!!! So got loads of CFW's babies on the go but not a ruddy one from my two pairs in the nice warm cosy back bedroom! God give me strength!
