  1. She definately is a nice bird. I didnt realise Fawn Penguins were so hard to come by. This pair will possibly be for sale though as my flight is crammed at the minute with over 30 other young fledglings and more ready to fledge.
  2. Hi They just appeared as in young fledglings that moulted out into Fawn Penguins. The hen is a beautiful bird the picture really doesn't do her justice.
  3. Hi all Thought I would put up a picture of this cock and hen that have appeared in my flight. Thanks Dale
  4. One of my Penguin cock birds has chest markings but every chick from him has been perfectly coloured. I kept him because he is a huge bird and to be honest a few faults don't bother me as I'm not trying to show them. It just goes to show the markings can be random to say the least.
  5. Thanks Emmy. Shame but the will be for sale so as not to have too much of the same blood line. Dale
  6. Just an update to this one. I pairied the LBBB cock to a white hen that was split for BB and got the following results All LBBB's 1 cock 2 hens. Very happy with the results Dale
  7. Thats very helpful info Trevor I think I will keep an eye out for a LB hen to pair him with Thanks Dale
  8. So it is a lightback BB, great I have never seen one before and was amazed when it appeared in my aviary that is full of everything but BB's. A welcome bird to my collection though.
  9. Ok so here are some better pictures
  10. Hi and thanks for the replies. I will get some better pictures later and post them up. Quite a nice suprise as I dont have any black breasts in my aviary. In fact bar my penguins all of my Zebs were given to me by my brother, Colly on here. Andy yes I know the picture links to my photobucket account, I use it for various types of forums. Theres all sorts of stuff in there cars, bikes that I own or have owned Just out of interest what colour hen would it be best to pair this BB with? I am completely baffled by genes etc and normally just let my birds choose their mate. Thanks in advance Dale
  11. Hi all One of this years young has now finished its moult and looks to me to be a black breasted. What do you think? Thanks Dale

    First Penguin Chick

Hi I have had around 15 odd young so far, although it was a really bad start to the year. I have just had 5 chicks fledge today At the moment I have 3 nest full of eggs. There is one chick that looks to be a fawn penguin so I will be keeping an eye on that. As soon as it sits still I will put a picture up The parents to the Penguin in the picture came from Dean on here via my brother Col (Colly). Well happy.
  13. Hi all I thought I would post a few pictures of my first Penguin chick of the year. The penguin nearest the camera is this years young and the hen in the mddle is its mother. Thanks Dale

    Hello All.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Oh yes 2013 looks very promising So far just put up a new bird shed and over the next few months I will be extending my flight, adding breeders etc. I just spent hours painting the new carry cage I got of my brother Col who is also know as Colly on here.
  15. Yep Col is my brother. He actually got me back into birds after a long spell away from it. The penguins are great, cracking birds.
