My Surprise Pied Bc - Is He Any Good?

Recommended Posts

I only breed for fun, but earlier this year my favourite grey normal male and a CFW hen hatched this little chap, a BC hen and a pied grey. It was quite a surprise as the earlier chicks from this pair had all been grey normals.

Sorry that the photos aren't the best, he doesn't sit still for long.

Anyway - what do you think? I'm thinking of buying in a BC hen or a pied hen to breed with him.

nice looking bc pied there and it is recessive the gene so you are best keeping black cheek to black cheek until you get more knowledge on what genes are what and how they work

Black Cheek and Pied are both recessive. This means that your male is a Grey / BC Pied And your hen is CFW / BC Pied.

Assuming they don't carry any other recessive genes their offspring should be :-

12.5% Grey /BC Pied CFW Males

3.125% Pied /CFW Males

6.25% Pied /BC CFW Males

3.125% Grey /CFW Males

3.125% BC Pied /CFW Males

6.25% Grey /Pied CFW Males

3.125% BC /CFW Males

6.25% BC /Pied CFW Males

6.25% Grey /BC CFW Males

6.25% Grey /BC Females

3.125% BC Females

6.25% BC /Pied Females

3.125% Grey Females

3.125% BC Pied Females

6.25% Grey /Pied Females

12.5% Grey /BC Pied Females

3.125% Pied Females

6.25% Pied /BC Females

Hope This Helps  :good:
