Krissy 3 Report post Posted February 14, 2015 I saw a simulation of what this bird would look like... Fawn in body colour which chocolate markings (In place of breast, cheek and flank markings). However Ive heard that the genes don't quite interact like that when BC is present on a Fawn bird. Ive searched for pictures does anyone have pictures or an explanation as to how this bird would look? E-finch "The fawn mutation changes the normal gray and black coloring to a light brown or fawn coloring with dark brown markings." Emmy 528 Report post Posted February 14, 2015 I have a fawn BC. but I was told that the cheek patches are really a very dark brown - but unless you look very carefully you would think the cheek patches are black. Krissy 3 Report post Posted February 14, 2015 Ahh I see. Thats cool. I probably didn't phrase it very well... its been an odd day to say the least. I meant the breast bars, cheek and flank markings become chocolate-y in colour rather than black... so I was partially right but rather than chocolate its more almost black-brown markings by the sounds of it Thanks for the help! Andrew123 72 Report post Posted February 14, 2015 It can be quite difficult to achieve good cheeks in fawn bc birds. They have a habit of fading out away from the tear marks. Clare L 175 Report post Posted February 16, 2015 Hi Krissy, Have attached some pics of BC Fawns that I have bred, for you to look at. As Andy has pointed out getting good check markings is very hard, I have also found that they might not show at all, but will still be full BC.
