norfolk flyer 208 Report post Posted March 24, 2017 Hi, Thought I'd share my first ever male BB Cream I've bred. Really pleased with outcome. By the parents he is either split OB or full OB as well. Trevor ?
Zebraman 267 Report post Posted March 24, 2017 Hi Trevor, Thanks for sharing, what's the genetic history of the young bird in the photo. It looks like it was a long road to get to this point. Gary
norfolk flyer 208 Report post Posted March 31, 2017 Hi Gary, It started off with a Silver male x OBBB grey hen. (1st year) only one pair i had the intention of getting orange into silver as a small project along my other stuff. In that year I got 5 males split bb. Next year due to space I was only able to use 2 males which I put to obbb grey hens. One other cage I was having no luck so I used one of the other males and put a fawn BB with him, I had 3 Cream hens off them so the male was split fawn. So this year I paired one BB Cream hen to a triple orange grey male split fawn and this is the result. 3 in nest another BB cream and a OBBB fawn hen. Right now for the best bit, the one in pic is a lot darker and I think it could be a triple orange cream or a OBBB cream. Very pleased with this one. So as you can appreciate a few years work, but worth it. Thanks for your interest ?
Zebraman 267 Report post Posted April 4, 2017 Hi Trevor, Many thanks for the update, the time that breeders like you put into your birds to produce the mutations that you do is amazing. I only keep a small number of combinations, but yours must be endless. Without people like you we wouldn't have the varieties and types we have today. Keep up the good work Trevor and please keep us updated with your plans for the future and how everything is progressing. Gary
