  1. Hi Linford,My advise would be to try small amounts of various mixes until you find your getting very little waste, as you know I mix my own and they love it, but I have also tried may varieties over the years and there are some really good mixed seeds out there.Versele Laga and Kings amongst a few of them.Gary.

  2. Hi Helen,To answer your questions:A.) I use finger drawers to feed my eggfood, the beauty of these is that you can fill them and just push them through the bars.See below:m037_finger_drawer.jpgM012.jpgB.) I don't mix my egg food with their normal seed as it tends to drop to the bottom before they get chance to consume it.C.) I feed my breeding pairs twice a day, once first thing and then in the evening, try to make sure you give them their evening feed at least an hour before lights out to give them chance to feed their young.Hope this helps,Gary.

  3. Try keeping your egg food mixture in a fridge until you need it, then replace the egg food you give your birds twice a day. Once in the morning and then in the evening.Gary.

  4. Hi Helen,Yes, it's clear honey that I'm using, the type you get in the supermarket.I've also noticed that honey has a rating on it as well now.Gary.

  5. Hi Paul,As you know I mix my own egg food from scratch and I've recently read a lot about the benefits of using honey with birds, but it's the first time I've used it and I'm blown away by how much they are attracted to it.It's a bit like adding aniseed oil or powder to your seed mix, it attracts them like fly's...My breeding pairs are always waiting for their morning and evening egg food feed, but they are almost clinging to the bars waiting to get at this mix? I've also tried it as a pick me up and additional supplement for birds going through a moult.Gary.

  6. I've started adding honey to my egg food mix and they are going mad for it, well even more than usual.Does anyone else use honey in their egg food and what are the results.Gary.
