  1. During the next three to four weeks, my plan is to remove one of the large aviaries in my setup, carry out some maintenance and put 25 breeding cages back in.The setup is fully heated and lit with daylight florescent tubes, each cage also has a daylight tube installed and the whole setup is controlled by a Sunrise Aviculture sun 5 light timer, which allows me to control the daylight conditions.Does anyone else plan to breed over the winter months and how do you control your climate and conditions.Gary.

  2. Hi Paul,I have noticed this with the sex linked mutations, you can’t win, although I’d rather have plenty of hens than cocks, I use the excess CFW’s to put back with the lightback cock birds.I find that the losses are far greater in hens than cocks.Gary.

  3. Hi Dave/Paul,Dave the Normals are coming along fine so finger crossed they will be paired to some of my best stock.I'll give the fawn a go soon to see if he can still do the business.Paul don't you flight your birds between breeding, I do it to get them fit for the next round. It also gives me a bit of a rest as well as I find it easier when they are all flighted.Gary.

  4. Paul,I really like this hen, how old is she?I also got some birds from Nick (Thanks Nick) early on in the year, but I’ve not put them down yet as they were quite young. I plan to introduce them with my own lightbacks in my next breeding program, together with some good quality CFW’s that I have bred, mostly hens?I also got some Normals from Dave Huntington (Thanks Dave), which I plan to introduce to my strain of Normals soon.I’ve been working on these types for the past four to five years and I’m hoping that my next round will take me to the next level I want to achieve.Keep the pictures coming.Gary.

  5. I do have a bit of room, but this can easily be solved if several breeders share. Mix it all in one batch and divide it equally.Every £100 you spend you save £20 on vat, that's a massive saving in this economical climate...Gary.

  6. I've started to put wheatgerm powder in my egg food mix, just a small amount. Not saying where I get it from though, just in case the sales go up and there's a world shortage.:angry::angry: Gary.

  7. Fireworks can be sold over the counter from 15th October in the UK. It doesn't stop anyone buying them and using them at anytime. You only have to look at New Year as proof.Even the supermarkets are on the band wagon as well now, they even have a separate counter dedicated to them. And what are the government doing about it? Clamping down on anti social behavior ????? You might as well spoon feed the problem...:angry::angry: Gary.P.s Nightlight on all year round here.
