Peter Harrison mentions this at the beginning of one of his DVD’s, Breeding Zebra Finches - step by step, I have never experience problems with mites myself, but it is still wise to spray your nest boxes and cages with Duramitex form time to time.Gary.

I'd pick the hen in the middle and the cock bird on the right.Just my preference... Gary.

Many thanks for your comments Andy.I read every post and still continue to learn something new from every piece of content I read. As a community I’m not really concerned about the amount of members or the way it grows, so long as everyone gets enjoyment from it.There’re a good bunch of people on here and they all give good sound advice, I’m not going to name names, but they all know who they are.Long may it continue?Regards,Gary.

Hi Mark,Well it’s been back out again and it’s also started to grow its’ feathers back, but it still looks like a plucked chickin It’s also very demanding as well, it will take food from any bird that will feed it???Once it’s grown all it feathers back, I’ll take some more pictures and add them to this post.Gary.

Hi Mark,Yes, it bounced out at the weekend for a short while, straight to the floor, but it went straight back into the nest box after it had a bit of a run-in with one of the older cock birds. It hasn’t been out since, although it has lost a few of its feathers. It’s currently sharing a nest box with several Bengalese and a Lightback hen, I’m not sure when I’ll see it again?Gary.

If she is in with a male then she may be egg bound, if this is the case then you will need to keep her warm. This will allow her to gain some strength so she can release her egg.If she is outside bring her in and put her in a warm place. Can you give a little more detail?Gary.
