  1. Hi all thanks for the comments. trevor thay where real mate thay had the proper id and the spca van. I just think its ridiculous that some people get jealous and just cant see others happy and enjoying life. I'll never find out who it was (a jealous neighbour no doubt) but I dont care as no one will stop me keeping my birds. I'll just have to build a bigger bird room now that should get them talking lolol.

    cheers

    tam.

  2. well well all, today I got a visit from the spca thay got an anonymous call saying my birds was living in cramped conditions. I just laghed and took them to the bird room. the man had a look at the birds as most of my birds are caged individually his words was "there not in cramped conditions thay all have seed, water, and clean cages and there very healthy sorry to have botherd you have a nice day goodbye" and that was that end of story. as I sayed folks theres some sad people out there with nothing better to do with there time. have a good night all.

    cheers

  4. Hi guys,

I was using kings for about a year and found it a great seed but it was just to expensive to keep getting deliverd but stayed with it till I stoped breeding. when I stoped breeding I found a place near me that sells johnston and jeff seeds, now I get a bag of mixed millet and a bag of plain canary seed and mix it as 5 scoops of mixed millet and 1 scoop of plain canary in to a large plastic bin. I have found this mix to be really good and the birds love it and it costs me half the price it was for the kings being delivered. the mixed millet has white millet, yellow millet, Japanese Millet, and a good mix of Panicum millets.

I do add a little more japanse millet to the mix but not much. from changing to this mix I have only had 2 birds of my show team go in to molt so not to bad.

hopfully the rest stay in condition for my first ever show the zfs club show so the nerves are through the roof lol.

    thanks

    tam.

  5. I use finger drawers to feed my eggfood aswell, there cheap and as gary says you just push them through the bars. I use the larger round egg food pots if I'm going to be away all day.tam.
