  1. Mine have survived on Plain Panicum for 20years. It is just the sorted version of a millet spray. They seem to feed the Youngsters better on it as well .

I also tried this year Walter Harrisons White/Yellow millet, this has also gone "down well" with not much wastage

  2. DEFINATELY thinking on the right Lines Andy, but it obviously does take longer using good  Normals. But bear in mind any non visual Pieds must not be paired to anything with pure Normal {although, that is a rarity nowadays} as its naturally split for Pied .

Usually takes about 3 / 4 years to get something by crossing with Normals.

Trouble is, most of the Normals you get today are split for something, so not always a good idea using Normals or any other colour.

Always use Pied x Pied,if possible, with an introduction of White every 2 / 3 Years. you will get there in the end !!!!!

The Breeding & Showing of Normals, Fawns, CfW  is fairly straightforward, but Pieds/ Silvers/ Creams are a different kettle of fish   !!!!!!!

I did it on a 5 year Plan, I think it worked, but who knows   ??????

  3. HI, although I am based in Plymouth, my birds are based at IVYBRIDGE. You would be more than welcome to visit at any time. Did you know there is a very good ZFS Area Society based in Plymouth.

May I suggest you try the ZFS Website.     www.thezebrafinchsociety.co.uk
