  1. Hi all,

Just wondered if you can help me.

I have a pair of penguin zebra finches, but they really do not like each other. They have the whole flight(aviary) for themself and still chase each other and peck on each other. Bought them at Stafford as a pair, but i have the feeling they are siblings. That is why  i am looking for another pair of penguins. If you know people breeding them in west midlands, near Solihull/Birmingham.

Thanks for your help in advance

  2. I did that as well, even put some white paper in one of the gouldians nest box but no, i did not find any red or black sports. This morning 2 of the chicks were much better. One of them even fly as it used to. Unfortunately I found 2 dead

  3. The thing is, the chicks are on the ground. If it was rats they would of killed the chicks. Also the other birds would be contaminated and suffer. I guess i have to visit an avian if the chicks are still alive tomorrow

  4. Thanks for the reply,

Have checked all the chicks and some of the older birds-no mites. Also I tread them regularly with johnsons anti-mite and tonic. Clean the water every day. The aviary is closed with plastic sheets. The chicks are from 3 separate hens and cocks in different nests. Also have 3 zebra finches chicks that are perfectly ok

  5. Hi, I have a big problem with my young canaries.

Yesterday all 5 were ok and flying around , this morning when I went in the aviary , all 5 were on the floor. They are still fed by the parents. I saw them feeding the chicks today. When the chicks try to fly , looks like they are paralysed and fall on their back. I have noticed that happened to one of my gouldian chicks as well. One died few min ago. Do not know what to do.
