Remove the nest a few days after the youngest has fledged so about a week after.

One nest with 4 eggs not sure if fertile or not.The other 3 pairs are still building. I paired up my birds over a week ago.

Only set the birds up a few days ago so far so good ie nest building.
I never had any trouble since the giant rats were eliminated, but a mouse keeps appearing outside the aviary now and again.

If her beak was orange when the feather was clipped then she already went through her first molt so itll be another while.
Birds usually molt after breeding season but can molt any time.
If its just the one feather you could pull it clean out and itll grow back in a few weeks time,

Bb tail bars are vertical rather than horisontal and hourglass shaped bars mean its split black breasted.
Had a great start finally caught the rat (2rats actually)that took my hen cfw/bc tailfeathers clean out and it turned out to be 12 inches long!!!
Two weeks before I had a mouse caught in the wire and couldnt get in or out.

Ive read that the fledged bird may even help rear the new chicks so could be an added bonus.
So excited to start this years breeding just have to finish my shed so another week or two left meanwhile all zebs, bengalese and cockatiels are in the aviary gaining muscles.

Could it be a white instead of cfw as cfw has tear marks whereas whites dont? A pic would help.

They may be okay as long as there is enough room but keep an eye to be on the safe side.
Are the bengalese easy to breed? Ive 4 (3 males, 1 hen) I got them over the winter so this will be my first year.

If it has the contents like millet(all kinds) canary seed etc then it should be okay. The red millet may be bought on its own and mixed in or given seperatly.
I dont have experiance in this kind of thing so im just offering suggestions

Theres a number of Zfs shows aroung England, wales you could try there as many breeders sort out pairings before xmas and often sell excess stock then.
Welcome to the forum.

If its a cock itll be split fawn and sounds like its an exhibition hen you have. Itll begin learning at 3.5 weeks or so and about 4-5 weeks when fully weaned they also start to molt into adult colours around then.
If the birds are breeding again it would be wise to remove them once weaned.

It appears to be a normal. what are the parents like?
Stephen.
-
Its more so they fill out rather than get bigger and their usually adults after they molt into adult colours.

Thank you, do you notice a difference in using it and not using it?

Thanks for that, ,May I ask what Thrive and Gloss is? Id probably feel stupid for not knowing.

Do you condition in breeding pairs or split all breeding stock based on sex and condition each sex? Also do you provide anything other than eggfood and soaked seed?
Tips would be greatly appreciated, Thanks in advance

Suppose but some bird cages are designed with hight rather than lenth.
Stephen.
-
Is it not better to have a longer cage rather than higher if so this one might do for a breeding pair depending how long it is.
Stephen

It has chest barring but there not full developed and the flanks are kinda half developed.

My split bc cock who hatched the first week in October still hasn't gotten his full side flanks and full cheek patches.
The flanks and cheek patches are less than half colored, anyone know why?
Also he had a small speck of orange in one cheek patch when he was still in the nest, the first few times I taught it was just his crop showing.
Thanks in advance

I reckon normal, normal pied and the third one looks like a fawn pied (badly marked). I've one like it shes certainly an eye catcher.
The pied in the middle looks like a bald eagles markings

Firstly People have their own views about different things, we couldn't change that even if we wanted to it's all part of being human.
Secondly its your choice if you want to listen to people's views whether negative or positive but without negativity we won't improve its common sense.
Not every continent has the same views or same definition as "ideal". One might like large birds other might like small birds its all about personal preference.

Why cant we all just like these for what they are and go our own way rather than arguing like kids over whose colors are better....
