The only reason I posted this was because its got to do with zebra finches and this is a webpage made about zebra finches. No i have not seen the part about the bears and if I did then it wouldn't have been posted. Yes I am sorry and it could have happened to anyone but was the warning points really necessary?

Why would it have been removed in the first place? any ideas?

Thanks ill do it in the morning. Would the chick not be too old for this to work? I can remember reading that your supposed to do this when it happens?

I noticed my recently fledged chick cannot stand on one of its legs because it looks to be splayed. Ive put in platforms into the aviary and some 3/4 inch dowls. The chick is able to balance on both and is there anything else I should do to help?

Paul
I never knew that was possible although I knew cockatiels stomp on the dead chick till its like powder.

Tail to head*

Theres only two pairs of zebras.the bottom of the aviary is double meshed 1/2 mm square. Rat/mice traps around the outside of it.
The shed with 4 and 3 month old chicks,2 budgies, 2 cockatiels sitting on one fertile egg is being bombarded with rats lately so far ive killed 6 4 of which are baby size and 2 are 9-10 inches tail to toe.

I feed softfood aswell as seed.

Ive looked beneath both nests earlier so I may keep an eye on them and would it be possible that maybe they were eaten?
-
Im my aviary there was two nests one had four eggs one had three. A chick from each nest hatched yesterday and today the vanished and no sign anywhere
-
I wouldn't say so because pigeons are bigger birds than zebra finches so the zebras would need a smaller dosage.
In my opinion the best person to ask would be an aviary vet.

3 chicks (one male two females) just about 2 months old and one chick whos 10 days old.

Haha 17 chicks born 17th. This should be a lucky year for you.

What would the recommended size of a nestbox be for a flight cage?
-
Which would be better for chicks and parents a normal nestbox or a bigger one?
