  1. Paired up today tried earlier on this year with 1 pair not feeding and another having 2 rounds of dead in shell, split them up and put them in the aviary for 6 weeks and just had them singly caged for 2 weeks with daily baths and a few supliments, paired them up and 2 pairs have already been in the nest boxes, just got to sex my bengies and get them down now. Hopefully i will get some nice chicks on the sticks, time will tell.

  2. Same situation with me, I've only got 3 pairs at the moment, 2 of them have gone down, one pair have had 2 rounds both have been dead in she'll, the other hatched 3 but didn't feed them and the 3rd pair didn't lay, I've put them all in the flight with daily baths again and plenty of egg food, and millet spray, going to pair up again at the end of March, I always find they breed better after heavy rain if it doesn't rain I will be soaking the boardroom floor since I have a concrete floor see if that pushes them along, 1st year back in zebs and it hasn't been the best start but it hasn't put me off.

Hope things pick up for you Jon see you on Sunday

  4. Just putting it out there to see what everyone's favourite colour mutation to breed and show is ?

My personal favourites are CFW's and Fawns, I'm not keeping cfw's yet as I will have to get a bigger set up before I do because for me to be happy with the colour of them so it will take a lot of work and trial breeding to get to what I want to achieve, most of the cfw's I've seen don't fit with what I would like to see, most of them have washed out tail bars I like to see black tail bars and marking on the birds, I've only ever seen one pair that fit the standard in my eyes and they was at Stafford about 5 years ago and was already sold by the time I got to them.

The fawns I've just always had a soft spot for them, and always had a pair or two in my set up.

Really looking forward to breeding some new colours for me this year, creams and grey cheeked, never had grey cheeked or creams before but I'm looking forward to giving them a go :)) and hopefully breed something worthy of the show bench next year.
