Treading means mating this is the kind of these that gets me into bother because I am a firm believer in the question you are asking is something that should have been researched long before you gave them a nest box sorry just my opinion
Toilet paper is not a good nesting material I use meadow grass and coconut fiber make sure they have Cuttlefish and possibly liquid calcium as well along with eggfood there is a link for a good one on here somewhere or you can buy premixed ones hope this helps

That's me use my first 50 ring's bit of a mixed bag waiting for most to leave the nestbox, a few different colours coming out but there's nothing got me over excited but time will tell

The only thing I would add is when purchasing ring's buy proper bird ring's not the cheep rubbish you get on eBay.

With the breeding season hear for some What's everyone's preferred type of nestbox plastic, cardboard, wooden or even a nestpan I have used plastic for the last few years

was a on before as allan bt. I still keep and show white and pied zebra finches My zebra finches are my hobby not my pets this does not mean they get any less attention.
