  1. hi i have 2 penquin chicks with different skin colours 1 is skin colour and the other one is dark is this a clue to what they are going to be,when my canaries hatch i can tell what they are going to be ie; varigated,green depending on skin colour.

  2. hi last year i brought 2 pairs of bc's 1 pair for me and another for someone else,when i got them i was told 1 pair was fawn bc,  when i got them home i could not tell them apart they all looked grey even dan (dannyboy2012) said the pair i kept look grey,anyway the pair i kept have got 3 chicks so i took the nest down today and all 3 are a light beige to fawn colour i was expecting them all to be the parents colour any idea's please.i will put a picture up when they are out the nest should be this week sometime

  3. i got 3 pairs of exibition zebs on sat from dan (dannyboy2012) i paired up 2 pairs on sun and have 1 egg in each nest and the 3rd pair which i paired up yesterday have made a nest already,in my other aviary i have a pair of pet type bc's with at least 3 chicks,a pair of phaeo's on eggs and a exibition bc ck bird with a fawn hen on eggs so i am happy with what i have so far,

  4. just had a look today and i have some chicks parents are both black cheeks not sure how many though,i won't look anymore i will just wait until they fledge,

     

     

    hi guys have paired up early this year so i can get birds ready for shows.did not put birds down till march last year,first year breeding,but having said that 4 shows 6 cups,all the best guy's for 2014. jim

    My Bengalese tend to "Adopt" any egg or chick that is left alone.

    Most recently I found a stray Zebra egg in a canary pan and thought I would put it in a box the Bengalese roost in and low and behold they raised the chick and are still feeding it now even after fledging.

     

    i think i will try that if my phaeos throw their eggs out again,i have some spare bengies in the flight

    As Straight seed is NOT prepared and comes in bags greater than 12.5kg then you should never get charged VAT, if you have been then the supplier is breaking the law.

     

    so if i brought a 25 kg sack plus a 5 kg of a different seed i would be charged vat on the smaller quantity because they had to bag it

  8. hi emmy they are both bc but not sure if they are bb i have got to get my head around all this bc/bb ect :) they are both cocks

    perhaps someone could help me out with who bred the bird on the left,i brought it from riverbank aviaries near ely,cambs but the man who bred it lives near duxford he breeds mainly black cheeks and phaeo's he also breeds bengalese and he rights for the c&a now and again,the lady told me his name but i forgot

    We had a similar problem with Greyhound dog food. I kicked off to the supplier and got credited several orders worth of Vat.

    If it was delivered and you paid P&P you would expect VAT on that though.
