Zebraman 267 Report post Posted February 19, 2010 There is a bit of a debate on the colour of this bird. The picture was taken in very low light level and the lens used was quite slow in comparison. I have been studying this bird for a number of weeks, but I would like to put your thoughts to a poll. I’ll reveal the results in a week’s time. Many thanks,Gary. Huub Janssen 1 Report post Posted February 26, 2010 The teardrop does anwer the question, it is grey in colour, not brown. So it has to be a grey cheek. This is a fawn cheek:
scott cunningham 21 Report post Posted February 27, 2010 Thanks Hubb, That`s the reason i posted a pic of a Fawncheek hen for comparison.I`ve been breeding the Fawn/Greycheeked mutation since 2004 and knew straight away that it was a Greycheek not Fawncheek.Hoping to breed a few this year,as i didn`t manage to breed any last year Lost at least half dozen over the last 2 years, meaning that i`m now down to 4 cock birds,2 of each colour. So i`m really hoping i can breed some this year.Scott
