birdfan13 34 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 Hi all really puzzled I have just heard Fidget sing? Could she be indeed a he?
Emmy 528 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 Is Fidget not just chirping? If she/he gets orange cheek patches 'she' will be a 'he' -- if no orange cheek patches appear then Fidget will be a female. It may take a bit longer for her/him to show any 'cheek' colour- This happened with my fawn zebra finch - first it was a he -then it was a she- finally what confirmed it was a male was the orange cheek patches and the orange speckled feathers below the wings. mmy
birdfan13 34 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 I thought it was Jack at first , but it isn't a chirping noise, more like a little tune My husband heard it too, only has black tear markings , will wait and see. At the moment Fidgets head pops out of nest as if to say shall I try this flying thing again? They are so funny!!! Marie
