AncientOfMu 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2013 I saw one cock and two hen Timors at my local pet store yesterday. Is it worth breeding them? is there a market for them? I would have to make a seperate set up for them, keeping Normal Zebs at the moment and wouldnt want them interbreeding. Are they harder to keep? any opinions? RustyB 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2013 Wish they had them in my local pet store! they should not be much more trouble than Australian Zeb's, as you say keeping them pure bred is the important thing, though there are reports that they can pick up the Australian song when young! I am looking for some Timors, now that the new aviary is set up. wonder if I can get a transfer to our Royston site? RB
AncientOfMu 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2013 Well I went back yesterday. They are definatly Timors but rather pricy at £40 a pair. I have decided against them as I'm already heading towards 40 normal Zebs and I cant really justify building another internal flight and set up solely for timors. They are at Notcutts Garden centre in Horningsea if anyone else is interested. Cheers Don
clive 4 Report post Posted June 24, 2013 £40.00 - 50.00 per pair is around the right price for a Pair of Timors, infact they were that price 20 years ago...

MrMe3257 28 Report post Posted January 1, 2014 A Timor finch is much smaller than the Australian zebra finch and the males dont have breast marking.
