atinybrit 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2013 Hi guys! Just wanted to share a photo of my male. I bought him off someone who had an aviary about six or seven months ago to come home with me. He hasn't had any cheek markings until now, and they are VERY faint. I have to stick me face essentially into the cage bars to see them. Do you think that his cheeks will come through fully? Excuse the poor phot quality! Im on my tablet so bad camera!
Emmy 528 Report post Posted December 29, 2013 I have a CFW male that has very, very pale cheek patches and the colour has stayed the same from when it was a chick - the cheek patches didn't get darker. There was a post a while ago where it said that if a male Z.Finch had pale cheek patches to make it more attractive to the female finches they put red lipstick on the male's cheek patches -- this seems to be true and not a joke as I first thought.
