  1. hi petei only throw eggs away once 10 days have passed and i have checked they are clear as letting the birds sit clear eggs would just be a waste of time for me and the birds.cheers Ryan

  2. hi mark i have put down 8 pairs and most of them on average produced 6 eggs, 4 pairs were all clear and the other 4 pairs have hatched 3/4 out of the 6 which i suppose is good i have tried were possible to pair older birds with younger birds i found last last year this helped with the whole process and had very little losses. but with that in mind a pair i really fancy to produce some good birds are both 2011 breed have hatched 5 out 6 and are feeding them really well. happy days what colors are you trying to breed this year mark cheers Ryan

  3. hi All does anyone else find that the first round of eggs are mostly clear, and what do you all do i have heard that some remove and bin the first set of eggs.cheers Ryan

  5. hi dave/paul so am i right in saying that the normal cock bird i breed last year for normal x greycheek pairing is not actully split also how would it work if i used a lightback cock bird insted of a normal cheers ryan

  6. Isn't greycheek a dominant mutation So ud need only one visual in a pairing ? And their will be no splits Dave
so could i pair normal cock bird which was breed form normal x greycheek pairing last year back to a greycheck hen this year thanks ryan

  7. hi all i am aware that it would be detrimental to breed greycheek to greycheek but is it possible to breed using a Normal/Grey cheek cockbird to a greycheek hen or would there still be the same issue's.thanks Ryan

  8. hi Paul For the last 4 years i have never had any heating and the birds have been Ok but every year the drinkers do freeze up so i am forever changing/defrosting the water so the heating at 5 degrees sounds like a good plan.cheers Ryan

  9. i had a trip over to the "winterbottoms" in rochdale today to pick up a few pairs of penguins again.. any one who fancies some wouldn't go far wrong to give them a ring or find there sales table at stafford as they've bred a fair few of decent standard...
Hi jugglerjeffdo you have a contact for winterbottoms as I really would like to get hold of a good pair of penguis or two CheersRyan

  10. Gary Yes i put 10ml for every 1l of water and then let it soak for 24 hour before i give it to the birds they seem to do well on it and up to now not had any problems my late father used to use it like that when he showed bengelese many years ago and i was reminded by a zfs menber how also use's it every dayryan

  11. hii use kent cages or arlane aviculture both really good quality cages in a full range of sizes and i think they are great vaule for money, personally i think you would struggle to make them for much less than they can supplie them for hope this helps Ryan
