This is my CFW cock who had not fertilised an egg in 2 years, after fostering 3 chicks he successfully fathered these 4 , he's a proud boy as you can see. Kim

Hi Paul, lovely looking hen, she looks to have a great shape, also a small beak & the feathers look soft, did you spray her before the photos or does she look like that every day. I am of course very envious as CFW'S are my favorite colour. Cheers Kim
-
Hi Dave, she needs another 2 weeks i think as she is still moulting and does'nt look at her best , but i think she will turn out ok. I will post photo asap. Kim

Hi Garyi managed to change the nestbox today when all 4 chicks were out,the original was totally disgusting, i have been hanging a bath on the cagetoday only the adults have used it so far.Mark yes last years hens had that darker head that they lost later, i could do with more Cock birds bred this year as i have 3 that have been firing blanks in the breeding cages so far this year.Regards Kim
-
Hi Emmy, chick was bred from a Normal Cock and a CFW hen so if its a Cock it will be Normal Grey / CFW if its a Hen she will be Normal Grey i don't think there are any other mutations in there. It was the only fertile egg from the parents first round of eggs and was raised by foster parents,Regards Kim

Thanks Gary, yes i will make it my job first thing in morning, the sooner all 4 chicks are used to being out of the box i can clean it up as this is one dirty family.Cheers Kim

Hey Markcheck out the Netherlands ZFS website, they have great photos ofall black birds (Zebravinken)They seem to have clean coloured birds differently shaped to theEnglish exhibition bird.Kim
-
Hi Dave, yer i would love to see the photos, but now i am truly envious as you may have even better birds than shown in these photos.CheersKim
-
Hey Dave, i see from Welsh results you gained Best Fawns, was it the pair in the photo's ??Congratulations !!Kim
-
Thanks Dave, you seem to have a good plan here, going by the photos its working,i believe i received similar advice from Nic in an earlier thread soi will try to follow the same lines, i believe the trick for a novice like myself is to find a regular source of quality and affordable out-crosses.Cheers Kim
-
Hi Dave, these are great looking birds, i am interested in there familyhistory how many generations have you bred to reach these 2 birds.Kim
-
Hi Paul, this is a nice looking bird, i have bred 4x cfw hens all still have some head shadinglike you i am hoping the moult will clear it up, i believe hens with dark heads are carrying deeper colour for there off spring. If the head shading does not clear it will still be a good stock bird to put with a Normal cock next year. Cheers Kim
