you have stafford in a fortnight thats probably your best option depends on the quality you ar looking for
or simon mills did breed pieds he is from that neck of the woods

Just colour really, my pure white cock birds were from the same nest, parents were both pure white.
What do you advise putting them to to get the best chance of pure whites? Should i just keep my eye out for a pure white hen or will something else possibly give pure whites just as well?
try and find a white hen but there not many good ones about
-
If I understand Allan BT's post, you could put them to Pied Hens and some chicks should be White.
Andy
I Think the pied hen would have to be split for white
but the best person to ask would be Peter Cannon
-
Andy you are spot on but even going white to white you can end up with a load of dirty backed whites my preference for pure white is white to normal to get splits and then white to the split to hopefully get white or white cock to pied split white hen should give you a 50% chance of white back
-
when you say pure whites do you mean in colour or in line

once you get the ring on pull it back to see if it will come off if it does try again tomorrow
if you have good show stock you will probably have to ring it earlier

really nice shape and head for their age would be nice to see fully coloured up.

strange as one chick is like dad and the other two are really light coloured so don't no if there creams or not
will have to see how they turn out

I have only got one more pair of zebs on chicks they are bb/ob x obbb. my other zebs are not even paired up yet so

if they where in a big flight then they should have been able to get away from a bullying older bird another possibility is night fright from a firework going off

trying to keep an even balance here i agree with you's both yes a pet shop bird may win at cbs show where the competition is not that strong but as Barry said it would not win at a show where there was strong competition for the zebra awards. what i would say is if you want to go into the showing part of the hobby buy the best you can afford one good pair is better than 5 poor pair if you want to keep them as aviary birds or pets then go to a petshop or sales but remember there is exceptions to ever rule and I sure there may be a gem out there in a pet shop but not many also if you buy a bird from a petshop you don't know what genes its carrying
