hi all, I have just had a normal zebra finch off my friend its a normal size only thing is, wheres normal male zebras have a full orange cheek the one i have has a half orange fade out to grey. Has any one any ideas. Its is 100% normal no other colour to show split for pied its as normal as they come, just bit strange how the orange cheek is not a full one. Any one any ideas.Chris

hi dave, Cheers for that mate. I have a very dark orange male, i had him from a friend of mine. His parents were both cfw but one may be split for black cheek. He breed about 12 off the one pair. I had the male from him, but he also had cfw/bc from the same pair. Would this mean the male i have could have cfw/bc off spring.Also mate what do you mean when cfw/normal are good to have to put a good line into to birds.Cheers chris

hi all, i have 2 exhibition male finchs both of a very good size the only thing i can tell is that the one males marking are very dark orange and the others are of i lighter orange. Can any tell me why this is. Also what colour do they look for on the bench the lighter colour os darker.Cheers chris

cheers for that paul will try and get a better pic when i catch them all up from flight.Helen- i have a fawn black breast male think there is a pic on there you should get that from the young fawn black breast.I have a black cheek chick in the nest at the moment lookin forward for it to colour out.Chris.

hi all i have had the last of my chicks out the flight today. The male is a isabella and the female is white. The 2 young i had out are one is a pale fawn think may be a isabella when coloured up but the other one is dark grey with black cheeks. Has any one a idea where the black cheek has came from. hi all, has any one a idea what the finch colour could be its has a nearly full orange head, black breast but washed out, isabella marking on his wings. The male looks very washed out. Will try and get pics soon of him.Chris

mark, i see mate so alot of the darker colours have you ever seen a black face cfw on the bench . Was you still looking for black breast at all mate.Chris

mark,Interesting mate, more to it than i thought then. What colour are least seen on the bench at the moment. I have a good mix of colour birds will breed next season then will more than likely pic what ones i am going to still with. Its my first year with exhibition zebras so its a learning curve. Chris

hi mark,Cheers for that mate, i have only just had the male lovely bird will try and get pics on soon. I have been in touch with a champ breeder who may have a few fawn females for me. Fingers crossed.Once you have a pair of creams together mate, will they have cream off spring or will the have a dif variety of young. Is this a rare type colour at the moment. I havent seen any in flesh just picture some of them been your .Chris

hi mark, i hear your the man for creams, i have just got myself a cracking silver light back male. I have been told to keep it to the same breed or go for a fawn female, to try and produce a cream. Is this luck of the draw mate or is this how you have produce you stud.Chris

lookin at the pic dont think its a grizzly.the marking are different from a normal black breast. Soon as i get the bird will put better pics on. Chris

mark, no worries mate. From what i read on the link the bird he has is nothing like it. I will get the pics on tho mate as soon as i get him. He said its a very dark bird with speckles on his chest. Very large cheek patches and large flanks. It sounds like me to be a black breast.Chris

hi mark some interesting things on the site. Just hope it as good as the read up. Will upload pics when i get it. They are not seen of much in the uk then. He has it paired with a large fawn hen. What do you think the best way of breeding it to the right colour. Cheers chris
