Hi gaz,
As allan said black flanks and a good solid blackcheek, thats not to say that you can't breed could quality bc from a poorly mark one.
I had a pair in the flight split bbbc male and faint marked bc cfw hen, they produced 4 cracking chicks with good solid cheek patches.

Lovely looking bird you have there, do you know the parents to him?
Is this a colour you was trying to breed?
Do you have a close up shot of him?
Well done,

Trevor,
This season has so far started off well I have recorded most birds brought in.
I had another surprise from the flight a bb grey male x bc cfw hen.
They have 4 bc chicks out the nest which means the male must be split for bc. I feel i have a better understanding of certain genes now which can only help me futher down the line.
The cr bb will definitely be stopping for next season :-D.

Hi trevor,
Cheers for that, very happy with this chick i have never bred a crested before.
The hen came from good strong bloodlines ;-).
Didn't realise male or female are split for bb. A bonus I think.
Cheers,

Morning all,
Can anyone help, I was wondering if your were to breed a normal grey male and a bc female that is not the best of making as in full circle black cheek, does the same quality of bc get carried on to the young?
Another example would be a pair of bcs if they were bout poorly mark would this transfer to the chicks?
Look forward to your comments,
Chris

Hi all,
I have a pair of pied bc zebs that have 3 chicks, one of the chicks is below which means the male is split for lightback.
My question is the other two chicks ae feather up I can see the one and it doesn't have any bc markings had anyone any ideas why this would be??
What do you think of him?
Chris

Hi emmy,
That sounds like a nice combo bb/ob pied. Would love to see how they turn out. I have quiet a few pairs with chicks now few more weeks I reckon they will be out the nest.

Hi all,
Andy, I have had a look on the gentics site and it should turn out to be a male.
Spot of there Trevor, it does have faint white down its wings so will have to see how it moults out.
Another pair I have are bc pieds they only have white tips down wings, they have 3 chicks in the nest one is a lightback lovely looking bird unsure of the other two yet.

Hi josh,
As it stands so far this season this hasn't been a problem for me, the least amount in the nest i have had is 3 chicks.
I have a bfbc x bb/bc these have had 4 chicks
Another nest bfbb/ob x cfw/obbb these have had a nest of 5.
