one of my favourite colours are obbbs mine are at a stage were im nearly at a size im happy with then I  will add some more colour to them. look forward to seeing your other birds when they colour up. I have just had 3 obbbs leave nest and 2 in another that's a really good size and 8 bbs bred up to now and some splits

  3. hi andy

I have had hens lay around this age which is normal but I have always thrown the eggs away because I think it is to young to try to breed from at that age even tho I think they do in the wild but that's because they have as they wont have a long live cycle in they wild.

  4. hi emmy

thanks for replying, yes im really pleased with my chicks I have up to now. I have 14 pairs paired up at moment 4 pairs on chicks,5 pairs on eggs and the others I have just paired up, just waiting for them to feather up as I have got a lot of colours going on at moment from grey and fawn checked, obbbs norm, obbbs fawn with an added mutation that im trying for the first time and some bbs so its just a waiting game to what turns up.hows your breeding going on hope to your satisfaction :)

  5. some nice birds there emmy sounds like you have lots going on at the moment. I have a pair similar to your pairing (obb/bb x bb/ob) just got 2 chicks from first round they produced 1 ob/bb and an obbb so fingers cross of more to come.you should expect something similar but all young should be ob with some obbb and split bbs.

good luck anyway with that pairing

  6. hi emmy

nice chick you have there I said you would have a surprise  sooner or later .to answer your question I change my nest boxes all the time even when theres chicks in nest

but that's my birds and there use to it so maybe your birds might be ok but make sure the nest boxes are the same so that they cant tell the difference ok good luck if you try

  7. hi emmy

sorry to hear things are not going to plan but it is still early days at mo.but light is on the Horizon with your Bengalese so I have my fingers cross for you there.your bb/ob male birds if they were mine I would pair them to fawn if you have 2 fawn hens then your chicks would be something like this

                                                                       males 25% normal/bb/fawn                                25%normal/bb/ob/fawn

                                                                       females 25%normal/bb                                      25%normal/bb/ob

hope this helps because then if you come across any obbbs hens this year when paired to the above males you will have a chance of breeding some fawn obs,bbs and obbbs so good luck on what you choose
