  1. Alawi, I like your birds, nice pic's. The 3rd pic with 2 young on you mention one could be a BF CFW i think it's a BBCFW, if it was a BFCFW it would still have the tear marks of a CFW and or the black of a BF. The BBCFW has little or no marks even on the tail, no barring there.I'm actually trying at the moment to get a BBCFW,they have 2 young(8 days old), the pair are BBCFW x BB Grey.Keep posted,+ i will let you know what mine turn out to be.All the best,Trevor
  2. All, In my area weather has been kind to us, as of writing temp's are down and they are forcasting snow for the next couple of days. Who would want to be a zeb in an aviary. Paired birds up, had prob with 4 pairs, males were chasing females all over the place,so not happy with that took the males away and replaced them with identical males, everything settled down. At present i have 3 young and 46 eggs this is from 13 pairs so at the moment doing ok.One nest has got 2 young they are about 7days old now (BBCFW x BB Grey)are the parents. The other one is about the same age (CFW x BF Grey) parents. Getting ready for the East of England Bird Sale tomorrow as i have a table there not looking to sell to many as it's not a zebby area about here. Thats all folks, here's looking forward to March when (fingers crossed) the weather should be improving. Thanks for reading, Trevor
  3. Chris, Breeding pieds i would pair whatever colour pied you have with that particular mutation. ie Grey pied x Grey either way around. Then that way you can have pied young and also splits. As for showing i can't help there.Trevor
  4. Alawi, Welcome to the forum, look forward to seeing some of your photo's, i personally don't show and i'm more into colour breeding. Just started a new colour breeding programme this year, i reckon it could take me 3 seasons to acheive my goal. All the best,Trevor

    Normals

Paul, Just a quicky, why is that not a BC ? if it is a normal like you say it is why the black cheek first before the chestnut colour is there a reason for this ?Trevor
  8. Philippe, The weather here where i live in east anglia we are to get -6 by the end of the week. Not looking forward to that. But my zeb's in the aviary seem to be hardend to it. They will still have their bath.Trevor

  12. Philippe, The parents to this nest are they 2x Blackfaces ?If so, as they are two dominants do you get any problems ie with blindness etc.Thank you,Trevor
  13. Evan, Welcome to the site, i've bred crested in 2011, colours i've got are Fawn, Grey, Greycheek, Fawncheek, CFW's and BCLB.All the best,Trevor
  14. Ken, Welcome to the ZFF(uk) hope you enjoy your time on here. I have actually got your book and i've found it a very good read well done.I have also spoken to Ellis Thornley, he seems a knowledgable chap and i notice you give him a mention in your book. All the best, and looking forward to some pic's of your zeb collection,Trevor
  15. Mark, I'm away at mo, but I have got a bf cream which I bred in 2011. But with the cream mutation it has diluted the black, so it's not of the contrast we might think. Back on sat.Trevo
  16. Chris, The younster in question has it got black skin or pale skin ? if it's got dark skin it's prob bbcfw. Also has it got a black beak? (pic would be handy)Trevor
  17. Philippe, Have you a photo of a hen Lightback Grey Blackface Pastel, you often see what males look like but i would like to see a hen of this type please.Thank you!Trevor
  18. Ty, How are you keeping hope you've got things sorted and up and running, that hen i got off you is paired up only been a few days gone.To answer your question:-BF(male) x Silver (hen)25% Silver (SF) Black face (SF) 25% Black face (SF) 25% Silver (SF) 25% Normal Silver (male) x BF (hen)25% Normal 25% Black face (SF) 25% Silver (SF) 25% Silver (SF) Black face (SF) Hope this helps, i've put pairing reversed as well no difference but thought i'd still show you as an example.Trevor :)ps, Will you be at Newark? i'll be at same place.
  19. Philippe, Good pic's, i like your male lovely coloured bird different tail markings as well.Mark, I think pastel is the type, i don't think it's another name for one of our types not 100% though.Trevor
  20. Emmy, If you want for reference only try:- http://zebracrazy.byethost13.com/PhotoGal.htmPut it in your favourites as i have done and use when needed. On each of the pic's at the top are the abb' for the birds.Hope this will help you,Trevor
  21. Mark, I joined the zfs first then here, reason was (sound like jethro) i was with another forum to do with zeb's started off ok but then got a bit picky/argumentative so i bailed out and my pal google come to the rescue. I've got no regrets at all in bailing out.Trevor
  22. Sam Welcome to the forum, looking forward to see some of your photo's especially the agate & eumo ones, enjoy your time on here.Regards Trevor
  23. Chris, Should be mate, but you never know what they could be split for, a lot of genes lay dormant for years and when another matched gene comes along and bang out they come, completly by surprise. So for ex, if just your BC male was split for fawn, so the pairing would be BC/Fawn x BCYou would get:-25% Black cheeked /Fawn Males25% Black cheeked Fawn Females25% Black cheeked Males25% Black cheeked Femalesso don't be surprised if something a bit different comes out.Trevor
  24. Chris, No prob's at all they are not dominant.Trevor
  25. Philippe, Welcome to the forum, it's good to see someone has joined from france. Hope at sometime you will be able to post some photo's, and you enjoy your stay on here.Regards Trevor
