  1. ........EGGS i sometimes have my CPQ incubate their eggs but usually give up about 10 days in instead of leaving the male in with her....why not try "section" mating.....put the male in with her for a couple of hours.....keep an eye on them and let them mate....then remove the male and repeat the process every day or every other day should provide fertile eggs and hopefully she might still incubate i'm waiting for my CPQ to lay again so i can hatch some eggs hope she hatches the fertile eggs hope to see pictures when they do
  2. awwwwww i wish my dog interacted with the birds like that......usually he runs away as soon as they get fully feathered haha at the moment i have 5 teils.....2 are rescues so going to a new home soon
  3. hey emmy, want to see a magic trick? *poof of smoke* only 2 chicks remaining.....and now my jacket squeaks haha they are sooo cute (im stealing the one with the yellow head) wish i had the time to hand rear........actually.....i wouldn't be able to sell any if i did haha
  4. i use avian ID.....purely because they are cheap.....and that you can customize them you can choose a range of colors and you get an applicator with them
  5. haha i dont think lexi would happily sit in a carry cage.......shes had her wings clipped now too ready for the shows with the rescue, she can still fly to my bed though i need to find something that will help speed up her feather growth.....she just keeps pulling them out! a feather grows and she yanks it out....even with all of her toys....and out time....her toys get changed around or changed over weekly or monthly.............but she doesnt bother with her toys!! just sits there.....lol
  6. yeah the stand is wobbly though. personally i dont like the vision cages, i dont think they are secure enough....and break easily with the plastic bottom will be trying to find them a new cage soon hopefully i wish i could take my lexi to the shops......but the area i live in she would probably get stolen
  7. i was planning on one pair of teils for now haha.......but chances are it will turn into 3 pairs the previous owners told me they are called Bonnie and Clyde irn bru is good stuff! if he carries on you will have a buff bird this is the cage i got....with the toys!....they also let me keep the travel cage (looks brand new) which is only small, suitable for 1 budgie
  8. i would personally go to that jeremy kyle show....and bring my lexi i got 2 new teils myself today, someone was moving so i bought them off him, £30 for two and a large vision cage......one of them is a whiteface.....just need a hen now! got 3 males! you could try slowly re-introducing them to each other........might trick her into thinking hes a new one
  9. Lets get Jeremy Kyle!!! haha! maybe being in the same room with Bobby, she decided to like him instead and saw her own mate as a threat. Its a situation like me and my Lexi, She hates anybody that comes near me when im on my bed but off my bed shes fine......can just be moody to males haha
  10. oohhhh i'm exited!!! starting to get eggs off these 2 pairs While mutation wise i am not expecting much, from pair 2 i will be getting some good sized chicks and from pair 1 i will be trying to achieve my grey YF spangle opaline pair 1 are a lot smaller than pair 2, both pairs have my own bloodline in them, Trooper and Tango (both 1/2 siblings, same dad) Pair 1: Trooper and Snowy Trooper: Grey(Blue) YF/ opaline Snowy: Blue DF spangle.....unknown if anything else as of yet Pair 2: Boo: grey(Blue) YF (unknown splits) Tango: Grey(blue) normal
  11. thank you. i have taking a liking to the greywing dilute i have named "ghost" after her dad (called Casper) the YF was a shock as i was expecting another white faced cobalt violet haha Regarding the SupaPets cages, they ended up costing me about £145....but that was for 6 of them and i find them better and stronger than the official breeder ones (the ones with the fancy metal heats on the doors)......not a big fan of the perches provided with them so i use a wooden perch in them as well as a couple of plastic and one of the ones supplied. i also bought some of their wooden perches that twist onto the cage bars.....only problem i have is they are not secure at all....instead of staying straight they seem to fall down (diagonally) without any pressure at all.....even the finches couldn't land on the perches haha so while i find some more i have wedged them between the cage bars in the corner of the cage last i checked emmy.....too bloody many! about 40 zebbies about 20 bengies about 50-60 budgies 6 canarys 1 electus 2 senagal parrots 2 love birds 2 kakarikis 1 cockateil and 1 parrolett it's a good job your not on my facebook group emmy.....i have just posted 2 albums of all the budgies i have in my aviary at the moment i will try and update on here more often but uni work kind of takes over at the moment........i just wont have time to upload pictures to 2 different places and then write a description i am managing to do it tonight as i have arrived at uni early haha i have put 2 new pairs together.....i will upload pictures tonight....... just remembered, how is your clearbody doing chris? would love to see some pictures of the chick now
  12. and now for polo and houdinis chicks (oldest to youngest) 1: Gray Combination-pied opaline spangle 2: sky YF type 1 cinnamon spangle opaline combination pied (i think) 3: Cobalt Violet normal 4: gray dominant pied spangle opaline 5: Sky YF normal

  20. all chicks now hatched has taken me a few days to get to my laptop, been so busy all chicks look to be doing well and i have some beauties in polo's clutch (oldest is 100% a keeper....and the 2nd oldest).......new breeding cages soon HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE
  21. thank you i had another chick hatch yesterday, i watched it hatch, i did try and record it....but my phone messed up and the file got corrupt hard to believe that last year i was waiting on Wicked to hatch
  22. Merry Christmas everyone who reads this wicked had her first egg hatch yesterday .......amazingly i checked the nest before i went for a shower and nothing, checked after a shower and it had hatched! little monster
  23. Sad news today. Sadly Polo's last egg looks to be DIS, no movement or pip and it was due to hatch today. so will be leaving polo with her current 5 chicks. all look to be being fed and well looked after by mum and dad Wicked's eggs due to start hatching soon i guess loosing 1 is better than loosing a whole clutch moved onto Wood chip for bedding......and i love the stuff! soo easy to clean i have gone and got 2 small portable fish tanks (or cricket tanks) which are the perfect size for when i pull 2 chicks to hand rear ......now just to work on my picture skills again haha.....i cleaned the nest box out after picture was taken......:P and put new bedding in for them Fingers crossed for Pieds!
  24. 1st chick now opening his/her eyes 5th chick hatched today 1 more egg to go......then my other hens start to hatch!!! so exited im more exited for these budgies to hatch than Christmas well.....i guess it is like Christmas when you have eggs hatching and you want to know their mutations pretty sure the 2nd chick is cinnamon, saw her open her eyes a little when i was doing a health check.....defiantly lighter than her older siblings eyes but not red so not ino........
