  1. zebbies normally start to sit on the 4th or 5th egg an usually hatch 14 days from the 4th egg if some have been there for 3 weeks and either not been sat or not hatched yet I would say they we no good and you should remove them

  2. thanks Emmy!!! think I will leave the dandelions to the birds. although I quite like to a daffodil flower stuffed with flavored rice and fried off..

ok so I went foraging(in my own garden ) got some dandelions I still washed them an cut them up!!! put them in yesterday afternoon went in to feed up this morning an not a dandelion piece in sight.. so think it was a bit hit with definitely be doing it again.

  3. As the total says theese weeds are starting to show there leaves in most of our gardens at this time of year!!!

How meny of you feed them to your birds?. I read on a face book page about boiling the roots an using the liquid as a tonic in the water? Supposed to be good for young fledge chicks. Any one on here tried it an if you use this wonderfull free source of wild greens how do you feed it.?!

  4. had these as a youth.. loved to watch them strip willow and they fly with it between there tail feathers when they are nest building.... the only bad thing I remember is for such a small parrot they are very loud ... good luck with them more hours of fun!!! an watch out they are prone to bite an when they do they don't like to let go!!!! I still have the scars to prove it........

  7. this is up too you. I do believe it is more for canaries then zebs but I no a lot of zebbies breeders use this method I for one am trying it out as i type. but I have been told with zebs to put the eggs back in on the forth eggs as this is when the hen normally starts to sit.  it stops you getting a runt of the clutch an in theory it helps when breeding with young birds as 4 chicks hatch on the same day make more noise then one so get the parents birds attention. but you can be just as successful leaving the eggs in an letting them hatch in there own time. my 1st round I lost 5 to not being fed and I had left the eggs in the nest as they were laid.... as for round two I have taken them away an put them back on the forth day to see if it makes any difference...  but it is all down to personal choice.....
