  1. No Mark its a case of some mutations seem to come with no problems while other have problems such as the cheeked mutation which had birds with poor vision.Paul.
  2. Hi Mark Its not that they were and are bred not to fly its just a side effect of this new colour in its early stages of developement ,it has not been done on purpose and some of the mutations that appear are natural like the bird Huub rescently bred which came from breeding black breasts and just appeared out of this established mutation,it like i was watching that planet of ice with David Attenbrough and they were on a beach with millions of pengiuns and in amoungst all these pengiuns was one all white one,a natural mutation.Paul.
  3. Hello Linford and welcome to the forum.Paul.

    Hi

Hello Mark and welcome to the forum.Paul.
  11. Hi TrevShe looks like she could be.Paul.
  12. Hi ChrisPied is recessive so you can if your sure they are unrelated breed the pied together or breed them out for splits, there is a guide to the Show standard for pieds i think it much the same as the base clours of pied i.e Fawn or Normal but also a pair of matched pied markings covering 50% of their markings, nut im not 100% on that so heres a link.My linkPaul.
  13. Apparently it is meant to be a bad idea to double up on BF,now i have never tried it myself as i was warned a few times not to the reason being that it can result in dead chicks and defects,i have know idea if this is true or if it was something that was a problem in the past with this mutation as i have avoided doing it.Paul.
  14. Hi ChrisIf you put the cock say to a white the chicks even if Blackfaces will be all white as the white mutation removes black markings,uk Cfw dilutes the black markings so you would get a CFW with greyish markings of a Blackface if you paired it this way,the best combos of BF are with the likes of Black breast, orange Breast,Black cheek, silver and lightback for me.If you paired a BF to a normal hen say some of the chicks could be BF and some may be Just normals as with BF you can not produce split birds, and it is alway better to pair BF's to none BF birds for breeding,i Myself like Normal BF's.Paul.
  15. Hi Chris Yes they are a very pretty bird, you should be able if lucks on your side to breed quite a few Black faces from the 2 birds you have,so i would give them ago first as you may breed a high amount per nest,in some of my nests out of 5 chicks 4 were BF's and in other nests i bred none.Paul.
  16. Hi Chris I'm now down to just my breeding stock,i Have two cocks and two hens i dont breed them as pairs as this mutation is a dominant one so you only need one of the breeding pair to have the mutation to produce them and it cant be carried hidden.Paul.
  17. Hello Chris I keep this mutation im quite fond on them. Here a couple of photos of this years.Paul.
  18. Hi Brian and welcome to the forum.Paul.

  20. Im not familiar with avimix,as i say there are that many of them but as long as you follow the manufactures guidelines it should be fine,i do personally prefer water soluble were possible as i find it easier to make sure they get somewhere in the reigion of the right dosage epecially when deal with quite a few birds.Paul.
  21. Hi this is as good as most My linkThey are quite similar to be honest but i would steer clear of the above brand personally.Paul.
  22. I'm very cautious about using this brand of products i cant say why but it is not unfounded.
