Black Cheek mutation is my favorite. I never breed Black Cheek to Black Cheek but always use split birds. However, most breeders here breed BC to BC freely to produce more birds. I am interested to know the general breeding practices in other parts of the world. Have they found that breeding BC to BC will adversely affect the quality?

I live in Lahore (Pakistan). We have a short winter season. In December and January the lowest temperature, at an average is around 5 C (41 F). Day temperature at an average remains around 20 C ( 75 F). Some keep finches in un-heated outdoor aviaries but cover it well with polythene sheets. However, some like me bring them indoor. Many fanciers on this forum may be living in cold places. I want to know from their experiences that what is the minimum temperature that Zebra finches tolerate. Does any one keep Finches in outdoor aviaries in winter.

I am new member from Pakistan. Although I also keep Cockatiels and Bourke Parakeet, my main interest is Exhibition Zebra-finch and Exhibition Budgerigars. I am in bird fancier and I am in this fancy for last over forty years. Occasionally I do enter my birds in Shows. My other interests are horses, dogs and gardening. I have joined this forum to learn from the experiences of other and share my experiences. I believe that there is no end to learning.
BF X BF Breeding

It is generally thought that breding Black face to black face results in too many dead in shel or chick die in a few days. BF X BF is supposed to be lethal gene. Normally I do not pairtwo birds of same mutation but to check this I three times paired BF to BF. My results were justs as good as my other breeding. If anyone else has any expereince of breeding BF X BF, I will like to know their results.
