  1. Hi Keiron, How old is your silver, I have a few and they do seem to take a while to show their true colour. Have attached a pic of my silver cock as he has white cheek patches and these were the first thing to show through, when he started to colour up. If a cock could turn out like this, if a hen I would presume something like this without the flank & breast markings. Nice looking zeb though Clare
  2. Hi Jervis, Welcome to the forum. Clare

    Bc Fawn Update

Hi Chris, He' definitly a cock, sadly if I get to close he flies off. Have attached another pic you should be be able to see the breast bar comming through. This has been quite a surprise for me this year, I'm really looking forward to when he is coloured up fully, its taking a long time Will post some better pics when he is better coloured up.

    Bc Fawn Update

What I thought was as BC Fawn is indeed a BC Fawn Cock. He has started to colour up now taking his time about it , pic below Still a way to go yet with colouring up. The flank markings are starting to come through they are showing a dark brown rather than the usual chestnut. This is a first with this colour for me, cann't wait to see the full colour
  5. Bit late from me but Thanks Had a Great Day
  6. Thanks Emmy, At least the suns out, BBQ Time.
  7. Hi Richard, I was very confused last year, lots of first time colours. Still trying to get to grips with them, seems this year will be no different. Clare
  8. Thanks Richard It does. In an aviary anything is possible I will have to wait and see
  9. Hi Paul, He Looks great. Love the before and after pics. Its amazing to see how they change in size and colour Clare
  10. Hi Richard, As far as I know only Normal/BC Cocks, And fawn Hen/BC, They have bred this year so I know this is correct. The Isabel Has produced cream, this is a dilute fawn? If so then she will be Fawn Isabel. How does this help to sex the chick? Sorry bit thick when it comes to these matters, still trying to get my head round them. Clare
  11. Hi Trevor, The Hen is an Isabel/BCOBBB & the cock should be Normal/BBOB & Isabel. The two other chicks in the nest are what I would expect, but they have not produced a fawn before. They are an aviary breeding pair, so there could be another cock involved
  12. Hi Trevor, Nice chicks, Will be good to see them coloured up, are there any more to fledge? BCBBLB combinations I would imagine look rather nice Clare
  13. Would this be a BC fawn, I have never seen one before so a bit unsure. The Hen I know carries the BC gene. Also would both parents need to be carrying fawn or can it come from the hen alone?
  14. Hi Richard, The other two in the nest are isabels, but have had other BB fledge waiting for them to colour up. Clare
  15. Thats really sad, it was very cute I've only just read this and did not expect that.
  16. Thanks Paul, The hen comes from a Isabel producing line so that makes sense for her to be split. I think to find out for sure if the fawn cock is split Isabel, I will have to bring them in to breed, and see what happens They have had two clutches already so will give them a bit of a break first
  17. Thats Great, One of mine has turned out to be male as well, cann't wait ti'll he colours up
  18. Hi Trevor & Paul, Thanks for your help with this, It explains why I have silvers, in this clutch. And so it would seem that my cream hen has indeed been up to no good Most of my normal cocks are split for BB, OB or both, lack of understanding mutations when I got my first Zebs. But in their first clutch they did produce an Isabel, would this make her a fawn Isabel? How could I tell? Kerry, It seems they sneaky affair did happen
  19. Hi Whity, Thats great, wish I had that many. Sadly the ones I bred last year I no longer have, and only have one fawn hen and grey pied cock left at the moment, and they are related. So will be a while before I can breed any more full pengiuns. Had a problem with rats end of last year. Although the Hen is nesting at the moment so we shall see what happens Clare
  20. One of my Isabel chicks had turned out to be a cock, Im so excited. Will post a pics soon, When hes coloured up a bit more.
  21. Right here goes with the update. Below is a pic of the hen that has produced these chicks, the BC LB you can see is a sister to the cream hen same clutch and parents. The pic below shows the above hens parents, plus one of this years chicks. The Below pic is the father of the above hen, He was bought from a breeder that classed him as a Fawn Dominant Silver/Isabel OB & BB, the hen that paired this was BC normal/Isabel. This is as far as I can go with this line as the third pic is my only zeb carrying silver, and he only had on clutch, the Isabel hen being amongst them.
  22. Hi Trevor, They are in än aviary. When Im next on my pc Will post a full history. Which Could help Clare
  23. HI Josh, I think silvers can be dominant or recessive. I do think you are right will have to be patient and wait for them to moult Hi Kerry, One of my Isabel chicks has faint tear marks to, you're right they shouldn't have them. I'm just going to have to wait
