  2. Hi Emmy, Fingers crossed on this as I need to breed splits this year, to bring back the mutations I lost last year, to my rat invasion. Which thankfully I haven't had any more problems with lately. The chick did pop out a bit early so will post some better pics when they all fledge properly I have 3 other nest with chicks due to fledge from tomorrow and over the next week ish, hope the weather holds out
  3. Though I'd Post a pic of chick that fledged a bit early today. Popped back into the nest after There are another two in the nest with it, one looks to be the same and the other I,m being Very Hopeful will be an OB split. The chick was very calm and hopped straight onto my hand, for his photo shoot, shame I'm not so good at taking pics

  7. Hi Emmy, If it is CWF Pied it is definetly a cock, especially after this length of time YOur pic does show a slight cheek patch, and broken flank markings, which lead to my pied conclusion~?
  8. Hi Emmy, Is there a chance it could be pied? It Would explain the lack of markings

  15. Hi Emmy, Probably a cocky Trevor is right you can see the cheeks comming through. I had a silver cock that had faint flank markings, but the cheek patches to ages to come through. Clare
  16. By the sounds of things your'e doing a great job, With your eumos, good luck with them for the future.
  17. Ok I should know what, this will produce, but, need to test. What should I expect from this paring? They have paired of their own accord so should have no Problems with them when they produce, the plus point being that they reside outside, so when new aviary is built they will not be disturbed, and can be left until needs be.
  18. All I've heard about eumos is that they cannot fly properly, hard to breed, ect. This seems to be an exception to the rule with your finches. And must be excellent for you. Keep up the good work!
  19. Good luck , bred silver's for the first time last year. Hope you get the results you are after. Mine appeared by chance knew I had the genes in there, but didn't expect to do as well as I did. Looking forward to see what the offspring bring. Have silver male to normal female at the moment. Clare
  20. Hi Kerry Thank-you for your kind comment Clare

  22. Hi Pip Alan & Josh, My Penguin is pied, unfortunatley my penguin line has pied in it Had a normal pied penguin but had faults, breast markings ect Still working on it as my first penguin was from a pet shop, I only bought him because I thought he was unusual, so still working on the blood line. Have produced some nice penguin hens, but males are elusive for me, hence my post, but will get there They are more mature now since I originallyu posted this will post some up to date pics for you Bear with big back catalalogue to look through
  23. Hi Trevor, Has now started to show male markings at last, still very faint though. He is also quite a bit darker than my other silver male, who is his brother form a different clutch. Its cool as these are the first silvers I have bred, and were a big surprise for me hence the confusion. Should make next year interesting Thanks for the help. Clare
  24. Hi Dave, 100% male on this one, caught him singing his little heart out. Silver is what I thought , but seems different to my other silver male.
  25. Ok, I give up they have stumped my again The Attached is a male, although showing no flank markings, very curious as to why? Same parents as the silver male I posted. But he seems different, darker in colour, not showing full male markings, pics attached. The pics are one week apart, pic 1 being the earliest, still no real difference other than breast barring preety faint also, not to clear in the pics. Or could the flank marks be just to faint to see, even on close inspection I cann't see any Any ideas on what he could be?
