  1. Thanks Richard and Dave, I did and I will, Cheers Andy
  2. Thanks Baz, Been to the beach and Bowling party tonight with meal after... Good kids I've got. Andy
  3. Thank you Clare, Ian, Emmy and Marie, How long does it take before you stop waking up at 6.15am to go to work when you don't have to.? Andy
  4. Thank You Gary and Steve. It's also official retirement day too. Gary, I'm signing up for a Photography Course for Beginners at Exeter College, so hopefully more photos but better quality. lol Cheers Andy N
  5. Hi Emmy, I've just googled and come up with short (2hr) one to one courses at circa £55 and Exeter College run a 'Digital Photography (Beginners)' which is an 8 week course at 2hrs a week for £68... I've just emailed to ask if the course fee is less for OAPs (by the time they answer I will be LOL) Good luck with yours.
  6. Thanks again Paul, I'm going to enrol for a Photography class I think, and get the best out of the camera I can. Andy
  7. I remember once telling a very senior Budgie Champion once that I'd seen some good birds in a garden centre and his reply was" If they take your eye you should buy them" so I applied that to the Pied Cock too.
  8. Thanks Garry, I'll try that.
  9. Thanks Paul, The photos look good on SD card in camera and again when down loading to PC. I'm wondering if it was too close crop or some other thing in Picasa that I used. I use auto which is supposed to make all the adjustments to light and shutter speed etc. So maybe I need to go to the manual selection for ambiant light. Andy
  10. Thanks Emmy, Fingers X'd eh,
  11. Hi Clare, I didn't realise they were so fuzzy until you said. It is probably down to me still getting use to the camera and thinking about it I didn't have the focus on macro only zoom. I also used Picasa3 to sharpen, highlight etc. so I might not have got that right too. Oh well! back to the drawing board. 3rd one is the least marked too. Andy
  12. These 3 chicks have just been separated from parents today. One is exceptionally heavy marked grey but they are first generation 100% CFW with mum being bred from a CFW cock to Normal hen last year.
  13. Hi Gary, I bought a pair from a garden centre which sent me over to Zebies and the exhibition side. I think a striking Pied certainly catches the eye. Got to think about the future and increase size though. Oh! also I have tried to PM 3 members lately and all said that they couldn't accept new messages. Not sure if that means inbox full or there is a problem. Cheers Andy
  14. Well hopefully I will be showing at the South West ZFC, The Southern Counties and some local B&FBS ones too.
  15. That means a lot Peter. Thanks
  16. Thanks Peter, I thought that one was a little too dark and not terribly well marked but I suppose it could moult out nice. Wish I had your eye for them. Andy
  17. Thanks Emmy, The way things are going this year with parent feeding I think the Syringe will be on standby for a while. Andy
  18. He has produced some nice chicks but not really very well marked. So I've been advised to put them to Whites or an overly white marked Pied next autumn. Andy
  19. I bought this Pied cock from Trago Mills Garden Parque last September, He has fathered 2 nice chicks with a Peter Cannan hen before Christmas and I have just paired him up to a Garden Centre Hen today. Biggish bird but not well marked.
  20. Two surviving chicks in this family were ones that I hand fed with crop feeding rig for about a week before the parents took over. Both parents are Peter Cannan stock.
  21. This lovely chick was a singleton bred from a Peter Cannan cock to garden centre hen.
  22. Thought I'd share this photo of one family of CFW. The Cock is a 2013 Wayne & Kerry Davies to one of my own bred 2013 hens. The chicks are as big as mum already and I have high hopes for these three. Just need them to colour up properly.
  23. Steve, Sorry for the late delivery but many happy returns for yesterday. All the best Andy N
  24. Hi and welcome to the forum, Ask away, and with the range of knowledge that is evident on this forum you should get answers very quickly. As a Zoologist we might be asking you questions about other pets and animals we keep. Anyway.. Enjoy!!

    Size Question

Could it be a 'Timor' which are smaller than standard Zebies.
