zebba 'D' 43 Report post Posted November 12, 2011 hi all i have had the last of my chicks out the flight today. The male is a isabella and the female is white. The 2 young i had out are one is a pale fawn think may be a isabella when coloured up but the other one is dark grey with black cheeks. Has any one a idea where the black cheek has came from. paulm 119 Report post Posted November 12, 2011 Either both parents are split Black cheek or the chicks not theirs, this is the problem with breeding in a flight, you dont know what inheritance birds have, what their carrying or even if a hen has snuck into the nest box and laid an egg in there. If the pair were Isabel x white this would be the outcome of this pairing100% Normal/White Isabel As you can see you wouldn't get any Isabels from this pairing only Normal split birds.
