The beaks of your "whites" is striking. They are no pure white and no 100% pied because they have no pink beaks. I think maybe they could be CFW fawn cheek and because of the CFW colour they could be lighter than FC ? I think the one in the background has cheek patches, am I right ? In any case they are expressing the fawn gene because both parents are fawns, their beak is also the same as a fawn baby beak.

I've found this on the albinos colour for zebra finches (In the book "Vos oiseaux de cages et de volière" (Your birds of cage and aviary) by the Larousse edition. ) Albinos: The firsts albinos appeared in Australia during the 1950's, but today they are rare. The feathering from a snowish white is devoided from any markings. The eyes are red and the legs orange rather than red. Thanks for your replies. I've immediately put the bath and wet it's eyes tomorrow evening, but as I said it was still as glued as before. He also have some feathers of his crest in it, so it became dry and hard, also very difficult to put out of the eyes. I just succeeded to open one eye but not 100 % with the collyre. I'll take photos of the chicks this evening for the ttail markings and the eyes of the poor little fawn baby.

I'm really angry with my father's attitude. All the cage was very dirty, he gave the birds parakeet seed so the chicks were not able to find the good seed under the sunkern. The normal one died yesterday. One of the fawn has it's eyes glued so they are closed. I put him "collyre" in it but it wasn't very effective. I'm hoping that they'll all survive. I have a question: the fawn chicks have no tear markings but they have tail markings, could this be crested blackbreasted fawn chicks?

I've always thought that the double crested are double factor crested (bred from a couple of crested) who survive the lethal factor. But I've never bred two crested together and the hen is non crested as you can see, so I cannot explain this chick. What is maybe possible is that the hen's ancestors were crested. I bought them on the same place from the same breeder.

Never heard of double crest on zebra finch. I've also heard of "frisé de nuque" (in french, litteraly traduction: "curly neck") on society finches. Have you a photo of a double crest zebra ?

Sorry for the misunderstanding. You could also have some next year if this couple of cfw breed some crested cfw chicks. I think crested cfw look gorgeous ! Then you could also find a beautiful cfw hen/cock for each crested cfw you'll get.

The fawn comes from the cock, he is also /fawn. So this chick is a hen. If you have a lighback chick the cock is also /lighback.

A couple of crested ? You shouldn't breed two crested together, because lots of their eggs would die before hatching. And the offsprings could be crested or not. They could be more fragile too.

No Kerry, there's no black breast in this clutch. I think that the cock is split black breast, but I doubt from the hen to be /black breast too. I have 5 crested on 6 chicks ! From the elder to the younger: 1(certainely cock) normal/fawn,pied or white; 1 normal crested (hen)/pied or white; 2 crested fawns; 1 crested white and 1 crested pied or Saddleback.

I agree with Kerry. For example, I have a clutch of 6 chicks, the cock is crested, the hen fawn. From this clutch, 5 chicks are crested. If the ratio were respected, I should have had 3 crested.
