  1. Josh Yellow beaks are recessive Pair to non yellow beak birds you get Split yellowbeak offspring Then pair split to a full yellowbeak and you'll get 50% splits 50% full Quickest way to get full from only one bird is pair a son from hen back to her Dave
  2. I have 2 normal cocks but both are split fawn?? I do have a couple of fawn cocks too? Which is best?
  3. Ye she posted a couple pics I know a right mix, I liked a couple of em so got them in a deal for the 10. But loads of hens to cocks.
  4. Thanks Paul I'm guessing no way of telling, fawn cfw and cream cfw from one another? If paired to normals I'd get splits from fawn cfw and silver and normals from cream cfw?
  5. Cheers Paul, first 5 pictures are of the 2 defo cocks. Any ideas what the others could be?I've noted them down as Bb-cfw Cfw split bb due to tails, which I tried to show in pics. Cfw? As think there's more going on Fawncheeks
  6. Hi Paul, Which ones could be cfw cheeked? What's best to test mate them too? What would you say cocks are? Cheers
  7. Hi Paul, Bought in Yeah the 4th defo is a blackbreastI seen fawn cheeks x2 bt they have a lot of body colour? Wondered if there is ought else going on there though CheersDave

    Crested

why arent your replys coming up on new posts for me :Sas only just seen them.well the 1st pairs offspring - the lightback hen is the best which im chuffed about shes come out with a good crest and should be a decent size i hope better than the above cock bird her normal sibling has a very flat crest but does have good shape but time will tell and the bc crest is smaller but odviously due to colour i suspect but has a very nice crest will add more pictures when i catch them up soon Dave

Thought is add to this threadJust bred 4 chicks from 2 pairs did chip but lost a couple from one pair for no apparent reasonPair 1 bc crested split lightback cock x exb fawn hen, they had 3 chicks wondering if a stray egg was laid in their nest at mo. 2 chicks hatched 5 days before 3rd chick.Chicks are normal crested & lightback crested 3rd chick is bc crested Pair 2 exb fawn cock x fawn bc crested pied hen Hatched 3 chicks but lost 2 chicks, under 5days old3rd chick is a fawn and nearly ready to fledgeCheers
  14. I think the main thing would be identifying all the mutations as a lot can be conflictingDave

    Bfbcbb

I would have thought You'd have to do bit more than bf x bc then add bbAs ud get normals and bf split bc. Best way would then pair full bf split bc x bc and get full bfbcThen pair full bfbc to bb and gives bf and normal split bb n bc.But while pairing the bf x bcId prob run bc x bb pairs more than 1 pairing Then pair splits together to give full bbbcIt's alot of hard work getting bb and bc in one bird to breed the same its using splits and hoping for best.Dave
  16. hi all, came across this site whilst looking online some interesting combos especially like the silver blackface combos zeb coloursCheersDave

    New Hen

from what i can see looks like a recessive white hen (although cant open them to enlarge for some reason)original pair look like normal male x fawn hen so new pair should get some fawn hens split white Dave
  18. no worrieswould a normal bb cock be ok? as have 2 spare at mo only others at mo are - fawn cock, crest fawn cock

heres a current year bred cock bird think hes march/april - so around 4-5 months old at the moment - hasnt filled out as much as id like but looks nice and hope he does well once alittle olderAlso this is the aboves cock father - fawn - his mother is a rather small type crest(rough crest too) fawn blackcheek pied Also a couple of random pictures from a stock flight cage - young normal hen same age as crested, 09 fawn hen whos sitting 7 eggs with a bc crest cock.-on this one you can see youngest crest hen, sibling to other fawn crest she has thrown more like the mother but may keep her yet - this one has a young 7month old lightback hen
  20. first is new pairing - normal blackbreast split lightback x lightback blackbreast hen This is the above cocks father - hes my own breeding from older pair shown earlier - hes my favourite one - sadly lost his partner who bred the above cock but will repair him soon. hes only now 8 nearly 9 months. very confident in show type cageand below is his sister, as yet not bred from her as shes only coming upto 8months so wanted her to mature plenty beforehand- shes alittle ruffled due to being plucked slightly by flight mates and doesnt pose well as not as steady as her brother
  21. New images as promisedShe has alot of white in places youd like to see to tell but fingers crossedcheers in advance Dave
  22. oh right i see now what you mean so blackface effects the facial area and the rear end/undertail cheers for that Dave
  23. hi paul & mark, these are old pictures, so not ideal but what i have on the computer today as only noticed it earlier today so will get some better shots of her head, tail and underside for you all to view - to confirmalthough do see what you mean but dont full bcs or splits have full white tear stripesshes does have quite wide black tear marks too, i didnt think to ask what she was bred from as bought them as a pied pair but sadly dont have the cock anymore.thanks guys Dave
