hi emmy thanks for comment is your breeding going to plan this year? richard
-
hi trev thanks for post. the other 2 males are taking longer to colour up so im expecting even more orange on these and there a bit bigger than these aswell and looking promising for my stud richard
-
thanks trev you had a helping hand in these I think? because there parents came of birds I got of you.i have a second pair on chicks that related to these so will be nice to see what colours these are aswell richard
-
here are a picture of 2 of my males that are just starting to colour up. my pair had 5 chicks 4 male and 1 female. richard
-
hi all I paired together a normal/fawn male with a fawn check female and there 2 chicks have just fledged and to my surprise this is the what they have produced hope you like them richard
-
hi Stephen I believe that if you pair a male fawn to a silver hen then in theory 25% of the hens will be creams and 25% fawn and the males should be 25% normal split fawn and 25%silver split fawn if this is wrong then someone will put things right hope this helps richard
-
hi sparky its best to pair your pheos to fawn hen this way you will have split Isabel and blackbreasted fawn males and females which you could pair together or back to some of your pheo males. if by chance you have any bb fawn hens or isabels these would be even better pairings for your pheos birdman
-
hi clare nice colour male you have there well done richard
-
hi basitali thanks for the comment .your ds male can be paired with a normal grey female which will produce 50% normal male/female and 50% ds male/females .you can piar your bird to either a fawn or lightback hen which will give you the same as before but all the males will be split for what ever colour the hen is ie fawn or light back then if you pair lets say a silver split fawn male to a fawn hen then you will have a 25% chance of getting cream males and females or if silver/lightback x lightback you should get 25% silverlightback males and female.im sure some one will put correct me if this is wrong but I hope this helps you with your male ds richard
-
hi emmy the hen looks to me as a bb split ob as I cant see any orange on her cheeks or flanks.if you look on my gallery you will see one of my obbbs hen which will give you a better idea on what to look for in a obbb hen if it will help you .hope it will must must say its a very nice hen indeed you have there. richard
-
hi trevor nice looking bird you have .what a lucky find bet you will keep checking there more often now for anything else that might pop up lol richard
-
hi clare very nice chicks there and with dark cheeks aswell, always nice to see a blackcheek no matter what mutation it is richard
-
this is a picture of the male paired to my cream hen.hes a bit tatty as it was of him going thro the moult and is a old picture from last year and cant find a recent one of him or one of him after the moult. hes slightly smaller than the hen but no he produces not bad side chicks as I saw some of them from who I got him of. Richard
-
hi pete no don't think so as I put them in separate cages and only put the hen with the fawn in late November.going to put a pic of the male up I found a old pic of him last year not in best of condition as was going thro moult. was going to put a new pic on but decided against messing about with them again as don't want to stress them any more and ruin breeding of them ok richard
-
hi trevor yes I hope I would that's why I did the pairing after I was unable to get any good grey males,so fingers cross it will work out ok richard
-
hi dan nice pair of cfw you have are you going to keep it as that mutation or are you thinking of adding another to it ie blackcheek as blackcheek looks very nice on cfw richard
-
yes there hers
-
ive looked at my post and so what I did wrong and put it right now the hen as deffo got three chicks 1 like dad and 2 light in colour and because I have never bred or owned creams before did not no what there chicks look like but I now believe that that is how the look like and young creams have a light beak as well like the ones I have.next time I reply I will make sure im not planning my pairings at the same time then I wont cause any misunderstanding allen (sorry about that) richard
-
no it me im put it wrong didn't realise I did that but that will be my pairing in February I have got that many pairings going on in my head and on paper I put it down wrong on that post. but the creams I got from pete were on a bigstand near the zfs stand and pete sold them to me and it said pair of creams on them there were 2 pairs for sale theother were more dearer as the male was a bit bigger. and the hen as not been with any other male richard
-
hi ade explain the cream chicks then .peter cannan sold me her as a cream and she as produced creams thus making her a cream theres no other way possible that she cant be as a fawn cannot produce cream chicks unless recessive but as far as I no there arn't any any more richard
-
hi guys (emmy andy) thanks for the comments not sure what I will do with these ie show wise but deffo keeping them as like you say they are nice size .the tear mark are just showing richard
-
I have only got one more pair of zebs on chicks they are bb/ob x obbb. my other zebs are not even paired up yet so my final answer is no she is a cream proven by the chicks .
-
then how as she thrown the cream chicks out if not a cream
-
hi pete I split all my zebs up all females in a cage and males in another so that there is nowhere they have possibly been together. any way my hen is not even near my others she separated with her mate in there own quarters.hope this answer your question.as I have stated she is deffo a cream and looks no where the same as any of my fawns even the male shes with richard
