  1. All, My first BF Silver, great start to the 2017 season. Came out yesterday. Trevor ?
  2. Happy birthday Dave, have a good day ? All the best, Trevor ?
  3. Emmy, Yes they are all 3 are this fawn colouring, what I intend to do is the dad from say nest one I'm putting with chick from nest two. Then dad from nest two put with chick from nest one. The third chick I'm pairing with a bought in BFOBBB fawn male. So these are my ingredients, Trevor ? Gary, I'll post photos of the three hens once I catch up in outside flight, All three are now adults ready for my new season. Trevor ?
  4. Hi, Managed to breed 3 of these all hens. 2 different nests so different blood. My aim this season is to get males, got ingredients so we'll see what happens. If all goes well it will be the greatest step for me in colour breeding. Thanks for looking, Trevor ?
  5. Hi, This youngster looks to be a penguin. But what else is in there is hard to see at mo. Hope this helps Trevor ?
  6. Clare, Good nest there Hope they all survive, Look forward to more photos. Trevor ?
  7. Update on chick, he died today. Havent a clue why, OK yesterday. His other nest mate is doing well, this ones not so black but on Lightback. So fingers crossed. Trevor ?
  8. Emmy, No not hand feeding, he must be bring fed as he wouldn't survive the day. He's been out 4 days so I'll leave alone. Thanks for asking Emmy, Trevor ?
  9. Emmy, It made an early exit from its box, I don't know which one, This weekend I haven't noticed the parents feeding, Plus I haven't a clue on parents. (What sort of bird keeper am I ) ? ill keep you posted ? Trevor ?
  10. All, Had this chick come out in my black flight, this is the darkest chick I've ever had. Tail is BB, it's been out 3 days now so must have been fed. I haven't noticed any zeb feeding it yet. If it survives it will be interesting to see when moulted out. (Probably end up pure white lol) Trevor ?
  11. Aspen, I don't think a split OB in a LB would dilute the colour as much as a full OB. Trevor ?
  12. Gary: managed to pick up a 70/200 is f4 at a bargain price. It'll be working overtime in the spring/summer. 70D nice bit of kit ? Aspen: with the orange involved it dilutes the tail as well. So yes it has lighter tail colouring. Thanks !
  13. Emmy, the main colour will be a diluted grey, light silver colour. Also the orange will be diluted as well. Gary, hold your breath here, it was with an I phone, Pleased with the camera on a 5s. Trevor ?
  14. Latest stage in colouring up. Deffo see orange coming through now. Also inc photo of a hen from same nest. Trevor ?
  15. I reckon you should make your zoo public, Think of all that money you could earn ? Big ad in c&a David Attenborough does a programme at yours, Then the icing on the cake a gong from Elizabeth in London.
  16. Thanks for interest, but the hen in question died on Tuesday with a broken neck in my flight. I was really gutted about this but it's always the better ones if one a zeb is going to die. Trevor ? Ps That's the other side of bird keeping.
  17. Update: Checking birds today and noticed this chap, he's one of the 5 mentioned earlier in post. Hes going to be a male, first one I've bred, The faded orange is now starting to appear in the cheek patch. If you look closely you can just see the orange bleeding through. Trevor ?
  18. All, Here's another mutation I've bred (2016). First one of this type, now working out how I can achieve a male of this type Obviously the plans are for later in the year. Hope you like her. Trevor ?
  19. All, Here's the only one from a nest but it's a triple orange hen. Its took about 3 years to produce these and it's my third one, so must be doing something right. Trevor ?
  20. Emmy:- Yes I have one nest with 6 eggs and another with 5 eggs. One of the above nests parents are OBBBLB (like dad in photo) x BFBBLB/OB so could be interesting if they hatch. One thing I will say is when working with diluted colours they seem longer to show colour. Gary:- will keep you posted as things happen also got another programme to set up soon and if goes well it'll be posted on here. Trevor ?
  21. Hi Gary, Both parents are OBBBLB, that's the pleasing thing. So should all be 100% as parents. Got another pair on 6 eggs so fingers crossed. Only problem with orange it takes forever to show through. This makes me wonder how many get passed to pet shops well before colouring up fully. Thanks for interest Gary. Trevor ?
  22. All, A full nest of OBBBLB's well pleased with these. Dads keeping an eye on them as well, or me. I'll post more photo's when they're older and coloured up. Trevor ?
  23. Emmy, NOT BUYING !!! ??????? Theres more chance of the Sahara getting flooded, Trevor ?
  24. Hi, I would say that he is a male, split BC, plus I think he's a fawn CFW. Hope this helps, Trevor ?
