  1. Yes my hen has a similar Breast Bar. I don't know if she is BB but that is most probably the reason. -Kareem
  2. Paul is right. Just wanted to say that phaoe could also be based on FloridaFancy
  3. Phaoe vary in the orange greatly. The one in the pucture is outstanding. Also since its a fledgling maybe the clolours arent full yet?
  4. Looks like a phaeo to me.
  5. So I wondering, since you're the only one bubbles has been interacting with. Why not tame him?
  6. If I am correct, Titch is the one who had shared a cage with a budgie? How are they doing now?
  7. Nice Names. I tried getting there names to fit their characteristics Black - the BlackFace BlackCheek, Snow - The CreamCheeked, Ice - The White, Penguin, The Penguin were fairly simple Its Blue And Brownie that were difficult. Blue lost her mate and that is were the name came from, Brownie refers to the chocolate brownie desert because he looks like a fat 9 year old. Would you check my other post regarding Snow? http://zebrafinchforum.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic/6331-stunning-cock/ Thanks, -Kareem
  8. I love him too sara, He is currently Pairing up with the female penguin hen, Penguin. Not so creative I guess. -Kareem
  9. Hope this works. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/hj7n5mtfmzd33ev/AAALh4iN0T1dv0UKs89dD7xNa/IMG_1954.JPG -Kareem
  10. Hello Everyone, My new cock bird seems to be a mixture of the Fawn/Grey Cheek and the Dominant Dilute Cream. Meaning he has a white body and instead of fawn or grey cheeks and markings he actually has very dilute cream / off-white markings and cheeks. His name is snow, He is the one on the right closest to the cage bars. So? What do you think?
  11. Hi all, If you've been reading my previous topics you'd know that i had a female zebra finch lose her mate in a hawk accident. I went out and bought her 5 more zebra so they can keep her company, I've always heard 3 pairs is the magic number. The new ones are some exciting colors and as usual I am confused. https://dl-web.dropbox.com/get/Zebras/IMG_1954.JPG?_subject_uid=189922611&w=AABiFEC17hbN7LQJ33fxJ9oRnSYSJ1QEdD_kZYBaC_YaLQ My Guesses are from left to right : Grey Hen "Blue" Penguin Hen "Penguin" Grey Cock "Brownie" Black Faced Black Cheeked Cock "Black" White Hen "Ice" Cream Cheeked Cock "Snow" Also, I've been questioning the gender of the all white bird "Ice". Thank you. -Kareem
  12. Hi, I'd say CFW hen but the tear mark is missing. Both parents could be split to the white mutation. So it could be white. It could also be an over expression of the pied mutation like Andy said. -Kareem
  13. Hi allan, No I'm not, but sadly the pet store was. I'm not giving her a nest nor am I pushing her into breeding. But to be honest i'm not discouraging her either. Anyways her mate died. -Kareem
  14. hey baz, So will these markings get stronger? Will she pass them on to her offspring? She actually looks pretty nice. Thank you. -Kareem
  15. Hi all, My regular grey hen, i assume, has a breast bar and what looks like a lighter shade of grey where the cheeks are in males. I will be posting a photo soon but until then you'll have to imagine. She is only 3 months old and the breast bar has only started showing about a weak ago, so have the "white" cheeks. Her beak is definitely orange and is lighter than her male mate. I am pretty certain she is a hen. So? I have been searching mutations and have found none that give females a breast bar. I though maybe BlackBreasted but her tear mark is striking. Also is there such a thing as a white cheek? Thank you all. -Kareem UPDATE: Sadly, A hawk managed to break through to their cage and killed her mate. :'( She is ok but I wont be stressing her out with the camera and pictures any soon.
  16. Isabel removes all black markings so its not that. Maybe Florida Silver Lightback ? Grey LB FF(sf)? Could you post a picture? -Kareem
  17. Hi all. Today I was walking past the pet shop when I noticed he got a new batch of zebbies! Fawn Cheeks, CFWs, Crested and Lightbacks. So I was wondering if Florida Fancy can be crossed with Fawn Cheek?
  18. Haha, they love posing for pictures. Once they figured the camera won,t be eating them ofcourse
  19. Thanks again paul. But did you see the photos i uploaded to drop box? better quality and the orange lacing is clearer. Or maybe its my imagination. https://www.dropbox....86FesynugVhsbWa So now we're sure it's a BB Florida Fawn (my new name for Fawn/ FF)
  20. Well I hope you end up with lovely chicks anyways! -Kareem
  21. So i just read that splits for OB show some orange on the sides of the flanking? Is this what he is showing in the new photos on dropbox? Could he be a BB Fawn/ FF OB? This bird is driving me crazy!!
  22. Black Cheek and Pied are both recessive. This means that your male is a Grey / BC Pied And your hen is CFW / BC Pied. Assuming they don't carry any other recessive genes their offspring should be :- 12.5% Grey /BC Pied CFW Males 3.125% Pied /CFW Males 6.25% Pied /BC CFW Males 3.125% Grey /CFW Males 3.125% BC Pied /CFW Males 6.25% Grey /Pied CFW Males 3.125% BC /CFW Males 6.25% BC /Pied CFW Males 6.25% Grey /BC CFW Males 6.25% Grey /BC Females 3.125% BC Females 6.25% BC /Pied Females 3.125% Grey Females 3.125% BC Pied Females 6.25% Grey /Pied Females 12.5% Grey /BC Pied Females 3.125% Pied Females 6.25% Pied /BC Females Hope This Helps -Kareem
