  1. Hi Jon It depends if the clock is split for anything else like fawn or lightback. Paul.
  2. Hi Jon You can do that pairing no problem but you may get the odd silver cfw in future matings coming out especially hens. Paul.
  3. Happy Birthday Andy hope you had a good day and sorry it's late. Paul.
  4. Hi Andy The level of light makes a get deal of difference to the finished photos especially when blow up. Paul.
  5. Hi Nice looking chicks, sometimes the Pixelation is due to the light level being to low when the photo is taken as a image is just captured light reflecting off an object. Paul.
  6. Hi You can Breed Creams from Silver's x Fawn and Fawn x Silver pairings, the reason you are able to do this is because Silver and cream are both the Dominant Dilute mutation so the same mutation, the only difference is that one is based in Fawn and the other is Base on Normal. Paul.
  7. Hello Ian and welcome to the forum. Paul.
  8. Hi The Cream Colour or more accurately the Dominant Dilute Mutation was more than likely a random Genetic event like other Colour mutations, and too my knowledge could not be recreated by using other Colour mutations. Paul.
  9. Hello Jim and welcome to the forum. Paul.
  10. Hi Gareth and welcome to the forum. It really depends on the experience you have had with small finches, if you haven't bred them before it might be worth while getting a pair or two of pet shop birds to start with and get use to their breeding pattern and the problem you may encounter, the bigger show type birds can sometime be a little bit harder to breed and i guess if you have had a year with breeding the pet shop bird this will give you some valuable insight, plus you can then use the pet shop birds as emergency feeders if needed for the better birds you get later on. Bear in mind any pet shop birds brought from the same pet shop could be related. Paul

  12. Hi The Orange in the breast area indicate that he is split OB and the cheeks would say he is Split BB so i would say a BF/OBBB. Paul.
  13. Hi Baz well done looking good. Paul.
  14. Hi Richard If you look at the tail of the bottom cock bird you can see the level of dilution in it, this is typical of the dominant dilute mutation to which cream belongs where as the tail in the photo of your hen is very dark as seen in fawns. Paul.

  18. Hi Having only seen the photo's of the hen I would 100% say Fawn, if you look a the photo below you can see they are similar in colour, you get a great deal of variation in colour with fawn and get light coloured birds such as the hen below. And below are some creams not owned or bred by myself but you can see what I mean by the dilution of the mutation affecting the dark brown markings, this happens to differing degree's depending on the level of dilution to the bird.
  19. Hi As the guys have said the hen in the photos seems to be a Fawn hen and not a cream, the give away sign is the darkness of her markings which should be Diluted by the Cream dilute mutation and not a vivid dark Brown colour as in this hen. Paul.
