  2. good luck kieron pleased to hear you will be showing your birds and having your own personal duel with linford the club show will be a fantastic show and there will be some healthy competition there cfw is a popular mutation at the moment i am sure you will enjoy the experience it should be a great day out it as the last time the club show held there Dave

  8. emmy this is a common fault in big show birds hens showing slight cock marking such birds wont win anything on showbench but there is nothing physically wrong with them they are perfectly healthy birds not sure what the black on the beak is though

  14. you have had a few birds off me over the last couple of years mark, not including the pair of yellow beaks you took last year and i seem to get a couple pop up every year in the fawn linesif either of the parents were related to my lines more than a chance they could be carrying yellow beak mate.Dave

  18. As long as you kept the best ones no harm done you can't keep them all markQuality not quantity mate
  19. Are you pairing to fawn mark or cream to creamYou must have some nice fawns aswellDave
  20. As paul said about the brown tips on wings and buffy colour underneathHowever if you don't speak to breeder its a bit of a lottery they could be split for any number of things especially with the amount of non standard varieties and colour combos being bred at the momentAlways buy from a breeder who can tell you what you are gettingUnless of course you are breeding for fun and like getting surprises combos ect in which case its not such a big deal
  21. Don't forget all chestnut hens have dirty heads when chicks that's how you sex them in nestMany of them improve as they moult outI wouldn't worry too much about good birds with dirty heads as these can still breed clear headed birdsI would stay away from lightbacks as being diluite they lighten the markongs of cfw and you want good colourIf I use a dirty headed bird which is invariably a buff bird I pair them to a yellow featherd bird as double buffing will not improve the flecking this is wju we should always keep a few of these smaller yellow featherd birds hard as that might seem when selecting birds to keep
