  1. Hi sue welcome on board! I'm only up in Nottingham so not far from you! We also have silkies. I have 2 white 2 blk and 1 splash! Also got a few wyandottes. You have more cpq than me I only have a trio although had around 20 youngsters this year!
  2. They look to be creams. .... well thats my guess anyway! They are cute
  3. Fantastic photos. Can see an improvement on the youngster.
  4. thanks Paul- go on tell me your favourite!
  5. My comments are Photo 1- hen is a bit blotchy/uneven coloured Photo 2- I'm thinking the cock is a little light in colour?? Photo 3- I like the width of head in the cock bird although he's probably a little too dark in colour? Not sure if this is the best hen for this cock but she's the darkest I have bred! Photo4- top left is birds in pic 5, top right is birds in photo 2, bottom right is birds in pic 3 and bottom right in birds in pic 1 Photo 5- these are the birds I took to the Welsh that got best creams and 3rd best adult novice. I've not ZFS rung my birds (I plan to next year) hence me showing in the adult classes
  6. Hi Folks Thought I'd share with those interested a selection of my 2013 creams. I had them in show cages today trying to decide on possible show pairs and if they will be in condition for some of the upcoming shows! As you will see there is quite a variety in shades of cream! Kinda think I've matched them as well as I can. Any observations (besides that a couple of the show cages are scruffy)! Cheers Jon

  8. Happy birthday nick. Cheers Jon
  9. She's a smart looking bird nick. Are uou going to the welsh?
  10. Hi clare good luck with your silver light back chicks. The two I recently hatched died. I think they were smothered by the parents combined with the heat wave. Dan thanks for your comment
  11. Here's a few snaps of the best two silvers I've bred this year having there first time in a show cage. They are from a silver cock mated to a light back hen so are siblings. As you can see they still have dark patches on their beaks and the male is yet to moult his cheek patches but they seem a pretty decent match colour wise- well to my novice eye anyway! They just need to continue growing and hopefully I might be able to show them.
  12. Hi Clare She looks nice. I've bred a few this year and was keen to see yours to compare with mine. I'll post some photos when they are a little bit older. they are darker than this and I am pleased that both cocks and hens are a similar shade
  13. Thanks Joao_z Mine too! I have since had another four fledge from the same pair and I have a cream that also shows lots of promise too
  14. Cant open the photos?

  18. free image hosting Liking the look of the cream!
  19. They look to be black bodied according to the book I have if they have tail bars. Or if not are called charcoal if no tail bars and no cheek patches. Theres no eumo in this book. Its an ozzie book called a guide to zebs their colour varieties management and breeding. Not sure if that's if any help. Whatever they are but I like the cock in tthe second photo
  20. Thanks guys father is FC and mother is fawn. The dad is a bloodline I've had for 8 years!
  21. Thanks nick. What do you reckon to the creams? see cream page?
  22. Hi scott I've had a good end of may and June and now got about 50. However theres about 15 that I have my eye on but they can change so much so things will change! Things improved radically when I started making my own egg food with cous cous hard boiled eggs and crushed biscuits! like you my favourites are the dilutes and focusing on creams silvers and dabbling in light backs. Also got the odd few fawn cheeks kicking about.
  23. Here's a photo of one of my first fawn cheeks of the season. There were two in the nest and I'm hoping that they are both and sister as they as so alike. Sorry its a bit blurry- the wire mesh was obscuring the view
  24. And here's a cream and fawn chick. I'm really pleased with the width of head on these two- thanks to new blood from Dave Edwards!
  25. here's a few photos of my first creams of the season. they are nearly through the moult so still a bit tatty and it was there first time in a show cage so a bit scarred!
