dean 9 Report post Posted January 1, 2013 hi Ben. i will be keeping some of this years young back to pair back to bigger birds. mine are a good sized. bigger than normal. but wouldn't mind getting them a bit bigger. Dean.
Ben 30 Report post Posted January 1, 2013 Hi Dean That's one of the problems with the penguins, you can quite easily put the size into the penguins but the difficulty is keeping the colour as they should be and keeping them clean with no chest markings on the cock birds. Good luck with them. I see you are also after crested bengalese - there is a pet shop by me how has some for sale think they are £10ea, i can find the phone number out if you want it Ben
dean 9 Report post Posted January 1, 2013 yes Ben that would be the problem. mine are nice and clean. there not a bad size so may just leave well alone. what area are you from Ben. I've got a crested pair but they never have any crested young. Dean

les3 0 Report post Posted February 10, 2013 Hi all, I started back with penguin zebras early last year. I find it hard to pick up odd birds, so had to pick up the odd normal and fawn cocks to make up pairs. I started with zebras in 1972 and I obtained my stock from June & Norman cox, and Courtney Hocking. I was secretary off the Yorkshire & Allied Counties Z.F.S. and a panel judge for many years, but work forced me to to part with my birds. I hope to breed my penguins to a high standard but I don`t think i will show them again. Les. ( Yorkshire).
