Clare L 175 Report post Posted June 9, 2016 My Bengalese are busy feeding all the zebs chicks they can find at the moment, plus sitting on eggs of their own in the aviary (7 Bengalese in the aviary sharing duties) They are taking fostering to the next level, this is my latest addition, he is very handsome. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

SarahR 70 Report post Posted June 10, 2016 i have quite a few bengies, even some grey pearls and a crested the only problem i have is that they wont breed they lay eggs then leave them....so far we have 1 chick here are some pictures of them (excuses the mess and the state, the pics were taken not long after getting them) how do i get them to breed? haha i see about 4 sat in one nest on top of each other too! they are in an aviary with zebbies and some canaries 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

amf1975 132 Report post Posted June 12, 2016 that's the beauty of Bengalese they will raise almost anything for you... from my own experience of using them to foster a couple of clutches of exhibition zebbies this season!!! they don't seem to feed as well as parent raised which in turn seems to slow the development of the chicks. however live chicks are bet then dead and although a bit slow both clutches are getting there now.
