  1. Hi andy, I have just had the same thing happen in a nest. Parents arw bf/bc cfw hen x bc cfw male. 5eggs 5 chicks, now I posted this on the Facebook pages and a chap mentioned continental cfw with pink eyes. Ill dig out the read up on it. Chris
  2. Hi gaz, As allan said black flanks and a good solid blackcheek, thats not to say that you can't breed could quality bc from a poorly mark one. I had a pair in the flight split bbbc male and faint marked bc cfw hen,they produced 4 cracking chicks with good solid cheek patches. Chris

  7. Trevor, This season has so far started off well I have recorded most birds brought in. I had another surprise from the flight a bb grey male x bc cfw hen. They have 4 bc chicks out the nest which means the male must be split for bc. I feel i have a better understanding of certain genes now which can only help me futher down the line. The cr bb will definitely be stopping for next season :-D. Chris

  14. Hi all, I have a pair of pied bc zebs that have 3 chicks, one of the chicks is below which means the male is split for lightback. My question is the other two chicks ae feather up I can see the one and it doesn't have any bc markings had anyone any ideas why this would be?? What do you think of him? Chris

  18. Hi all, Andy, I have had a look on the gentics site and it should turn out to be a male. Spot of there Trevor, it does have faint white down its wings so will have to see how it moults out. Another pair I have are bc pieds they only have white tips down wings, they have 3 chicks in the nest one is a lightback lovely looking bird unsure of the other two yet. Chris

  22. Hi charlton, The best way would to pair to other larger birds this will increase the size but depending on what size you want to get them at it could take years. One of the more experienced breeders in shows may be able to help you out with more information. Chris.
